Bells and whistles! That brings back memories! As a serious nerd/geek I am fascinated by the many steps needed to bring up just one steam locomotive. Never really thought about it before. Wonderful video!
It's nice to see a younger fella being able to do this. Nice, because he has the desire and that some old gray beard took the time to teach him so that the knowledge doesn't get lost. It's obviously labor intensive plus one has to "know the systems" to be able to recognize possible problems and have the ability to fix them before they become catastrophic disasters. These old steam rigs were obviously not a turn key operation. As someone else mentioned, it was also very thoughtful of someone not to attach some annoing sound track to it so that you can get an idea of the sounds associated with the process.
Way cool video man, thanks for posting it. As you know, I love old machinery so this was right up my alley.
I have to go to work but I will be back and watch this for sure.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting. I enjoyed that very much.
ReplyDeleteVery satisfying to watch. Especially without narration.
