Reminds me of the road toward Devil's Tower in Wyoming.
Back in the 80's a friend and I were trying to figure out if there was a clandestine way to cut grooves in that road. We wanted to put grooves in the road perpendicular to the direction of travel and grouped in bunches. Varying the geometry of the grooves would vary the pitch of the noise that tires make going over the road.
We were thinking of five patches of grooves to play the five note iconic theme to Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
Imagine sleepily driving along at night and getting that sound rumbling through your car.
Your going south out of Utah into Monument Valley and the Navajo Indian reservation. Sweet little town down called Mexican Hat. It is a great drive and close to the Grand Canyon. This View was in a lot of John Wayne western movies. I love this drive.
Yeah, I've been in Arizona for about 15 years now. It's a popular drive. I'm not really anonymous. My name is Ritchie. I just don't have one of the specified accounts for posting! :)
