In NYS, there were just 2 instances of people being rescued for being too high. In one, they were tripping and one "hiker" was found in a fetal position on the ground. In the other, 2 people phoned in that their companion was dead when they were merely separated. The general public mostly needs supervision.
The GUM (Great Unwashed Masses) need more than Adult Supervision, they need to be herded into a specific area and left to their own devices so they don't bother the rest of us that have things to do and places to be.
I'd take bets that there would be a majority of Leftards amongst them, too!
I wouldn't say it's all the drugs' fault. These are the folks who've never been more than 20 feet from mommy until they were in their 20s. The world scares them.
There was an episode of 911 abuse by some yuppie types lost in a corn maze as dusk approached a few years back. The corn maze was at an apple orchard in middleton/danvers mass. It is a particularly urbanized location surrounded by highways, commercial development, and malls. Of course, this is a state that calls the cops if a wild turkey won't let them pull into their driveway or if a skunk is spotted out and about in daylight.
And yet, in my school in the 80s, we had mandatory wilderness survival and gun safety. The intent was if you had decent clothing and either a moderate knife or axe, you should be able to survive on your own for six days no problem. Those who failed that class were obligated to repeat until they passed.
Back in the late '60s, in the Scouts, they choppered us into the North Idaho wilderness, kicked us out, and said, "See ya in a week". Parental permission, of course. We actually looked forward to it, living off of what we learned. A few Ptarmigan, rabbits, and squirrels kept us happy, as well as edible roots and berries. We were definitely NOT unprepared. No guns allowed, though. Nothing in the way of fish in the few streams we encountered.
That same area had an Ice Cream shop that churned a bucket of ice cream that was loaded with CBD/THC. It somehow made it to the the display case. One scoop was not quite enough and two was too much.

No sadly this is a universal problem and not unique to any particular flavor of ignorance.

ReplyDelete"Their glasses"? Is the sex of the hiker unknown? If not, then why hide the info? Could be useful to know.
