Welcome to 2025.
I’ve been down and out with the sickness du jour and associated symptoms. Just feeling a little more alive today so I made my way to work. I know my inbox for the blog is full so if I haven’t replied don’t take it personal.
Not much else to report on other than this has been going on too long. Was sick the beginning of December, felt better. Had my year end physical and got high marks with blood work and overall health Then got sick again last Thursday the 26th. The days are melted together and it seems like Christmas was a month ago. It’s strange as others are reporting a warped sense of time and days.
Happy New Year to all.
When I finally get back to some semblance of normal I’ll be around.

Glad to hear you are ok and getting better. May the New Year bring you better health, prosperity and blessings.

It will take time. There is some nasty stuff going around. An acquaintance from Virginia went to upstate New York during Thanksgiving and got some bug. He tested negative for flu/covid/strep. Only now feeling back to normal. It took strong antibiotics and steroids. I doubt the doc knew what he had.
ReplyDeleteTake very good care of yourself...stay hydrated!

I pray that you continue to regain your health and make a full recovery.

Same story here, Irish.
ReplyDeleteHave had the sickness for the last 2-3 weeks. Feels like months.
Physically disabling? This has been one of the worst I've experienced.
Mentally disabling? I've never been hit by ANYTHING that so totally/continually jacked with my ability to just think for more than 30 seconds at a time.
Are you transitioning to a woman?
DeleteGet well! You're needed!
ReplyDeleteWait, wait... how can you get back to a semblance of normal when you were never normal in the first place??
ReplyDeleteInquiring Idiots want to know!
seems that prayers do work, I've been asking that He watch closely after you; been missing your acerbic view of reality
ReplyDeleteBest wishes for a speedy recovery. Know that you’re absence is keenly felt.
ReplyDeleteIvermectin and C,D, ZInc combo. Or Quercetin and Zinc. Wife was sick for 4 days but it never touched me. I started meds as soon as she felt bad. Gooc luck in 2025 to all - --Thomas Rosser in the Virginia Piedmont
ReplyDeleteGet well soon. Don't forget about supplements.

I sprained my knee on the flight going to see my daughter at Thanksgiving. I am on week 5 of therapy. I plateaued in getting any better 2 weeks ago. I have 5 more weeks of therapy. We shall see...
Thank you for all that you do and your wonderful posts
ReplyDeletedress warm and walk a lot
ReplyDeleteWelcome back Irish. Have you developed a taste for kimchee soup yet?
ReplyDeletePreventative when used weekly or when you feel a little off.
I'm a firm believer in Vit C to combat the ick. I take 500mg tabs 2x daily. I mostly don't get sick, but when I do I up the Vit C to 500mg 4x. I had some kind of mung week after Thanksgiving. I think it was the latest version of Covid, as my eyes and nose were running and the inside of my mouth and throat felt like I'd swallowed a steel wool pad w/slight fever and no taste. Did the Vit C cure and was over it in 4 days, fully back to normal, mostly normal after two days. YMMV

No taste may indicate lack of Zinc. Covid autopsy studies showed severely diminished zinc as well as selenium. Zinc is kind of funny: loss of taste and smell with too little or too much zinc-gotta be careful when supplementing.
DeleteGlad your on the mend. Stay well!
ReplyDeleteYikes. Being sick sucks, being sick during the holidays sucks more. East Texas is praying for a full and speedy recovery and return to your own lovable self.
ReplyDeleteStudies show that everybody in the northern hemisphere should take vitamin D supplements in the winter at the very least or you will be deficient. Cheap, safe, and effective for a lot of issues and prevention.
ReplyDeleteAll good advice on medication especially the Ivermectin one by anonymous. Try that combo first if you haven't already.
ReplyDeleteTwo tumblers of Blantons neat artta fix you right up.
ReplyDeleteWith everyone sick I was thinking that doing the Irish thing and opening the doors to let last year's germs out and this year's fresh air in, would do the trick. Mmmmmm. Not so much. Maybe next year.
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of Vinnie telling the judge; Didja get that, the whole store got sick.
ReplyDeleteHow does a whole blog get sick. In some cases, death may be a permitted excuse.
Same shit. Came down with chills and a fever the day after Christmas. Just got over an earlier one 5 days before that. Haven't been sick in 6 years and now am getting ass kicked and trying to shake the last of this nasty. Feel better my friend...
ReplyDeleteGot hit with something on the 24th of November, has taken until the 20th of December to get it gone. Not good being this sick for this long, not good at all.

Do what I do, avoid as many people as possible.
ReplyDeleteWork on rebuilding your strength. All else is moot.
ReplyDeleteIrish, did you get the vaxx jab? That would explain back to back "cold and flu like symptoms". There's any number of effective detox regimens on line. Even if you're a pure blood, the vaxxers shed on the rest of the world, so probiotics and detox works on everyone. Best wishes and good fortune to you and yours.
ReplyDeleteGet well soon man. We miss your posts. Not a hell of a lot on the internet worth looking at besides your blog.
ReplyDeleteLook after yourself, John, and don't let anyone (including yourself) force you to do anything that will worsen or prolong what you're feeling.
ReplyDeleteGodspeed to you sir!!
