Damn! Sagan saw the decline in the relatively early stage... As for the "global warming scam" as a previous commentator formulated, Sagan was more concerned with atmospheric pollution and stated a "possibility of measurable thermic effects" not the current hysteria. He was by no means any kind of saint, but he was one of the last true scientists guided by facts not by budget. Pity he left us too soon...
"Here's where 'it' was. Here's where 'it' is. Occam's razor will cut into my third vacation home grift. So... ahhh... I'll call 'something' 'worrying'."
And that, chillens, is how's you's be professionally smaht.
Sagan was a smart man.
ReplyDeleteThat’s rich. Sagan was an early purveyor of the global warming scam in the mid-1980’s.
ReplyDeleteBook came out in 1995. Very prescient.

ReplyDeleteI couldn't read the whole thing...
ReplyDeleteCarl Sagan was a big backer of US unilateral nuclear disarmament and pushed fear of a nuclear winter to justify it.
ReplyDeleteSagan was also the guy who, when asked by Johnny Carson if he believed in God, could only answer, "Define God".
ReplyDeletePhysician, heal thyself.
Wow he didn't like nuclear weaponry- he must have been truly insane, eh?

The only thing good about him was the silly way he pronounced "billions".
ReplyDeleteI'd've given him credit for the "pale blue dot" thing, but I don't think that was original.
