  1. My old man loved that show. When I was 8 years old I didn’t understand why he always wanted to watch it. I realize now he was a closet horn dog.

He also called the smell of a skunk a woods pussy. I didn’t get that one until later in life either.

    1. I have never heard skunks called by that name, but old timers around my neck of the woods called skunks "pole cats" when I was a young'un. I believe "pole cat" is the name of a mammal found in England (with cousins found on other continents) which emits an obnoxious smell when threatened. Early Appalachian settlers bestowed this name on skunks because of some similarities between the two critters.

    2. I was born in California 71 years ago and have never lived anywhere else (long story) and I've always called them pole cats too. I can't say where I first heard the term.
I've got one that swings by the house occasionally to see what he/she can score in the way of bird seed/sweet cob that I put out for the other critters. Skunks have always cracked me up, the way they calmly waddle off when they know they've been spotted. It's like they know there's no hurry because they know what they've got in store for anything that tries to catch them from behind, lol.

re: Barbara Eden- she's just a touch younger than Clint Eastwood. It's always a hoot to see them together in the three episodes of Rawhide they did together, knowing they're both still alive. I hope they're both doing well.

  3. Just when one thought that one couldn't feel any older... Holy balls. Mizz Eden was the cause of more spilled seed than all of grain silo explosions, combined, in the 20th century.

  5. Thus the duality of man:

Ginger, or Mary Ann? The flip side of which is, Mary Ann, or Jeanie?

  9. She is a stunning woman. I dream of Jeannie was good, but you really should see her Andy Griffith episode where she was a manicurist that moved to Mayberry.
