So, What Is This New Non-Covid Sickness Going Around ?...

With in the past week, my mother has gotten a bad "cold" that has knocked her down. Head, chest

vomiting, slight temp. She finally went to the quick care and negative test. She's starting to feel

better.

Last Friday, I reached out to a buddy that I haven't heard from in a while and he's been down and out

recurring bouts for almost 3 weeks. Totally feels and sounds like shit. "5" negative covid tests

between home and clinic.  As an on the road salesman he is very cautious and takes care to

avoid getting sick. Goes to the gym and eats healthy ( I told him that's the problem, he kinda laughed

then started coughing.)

Last night, I heard from another friend out near Tucson, he's been sick as a dog for 3-4 days.

Feels like shit, and has tested negative.

Just something odd that all of a sudden that many people, in the small circle I maintain, are sick.

It's Monday... off to the salt mines.

  1. Good point about the new bug; from now on it's always going to be something.
How are the salt mines in your part of the world?

  3. Went to visit two different sets of relatives south of the border yesterday. Couple hours after I got home last night, I started to get a headache that proceeded down into the back of my neck. I'm like WTF. I only had two small scotches and one small glass of red wine over the course of about six hours, so I couldn't be hung over, could I, I'm thinking. I don't drink often, so I figured maybe. Drank a couple large glasses of water thinking maybe I was a little dehydrated as I didn't have my usual amount of water during the day. Went to bed. Woke up this morning, with both my shoulders and the left side of my chest feeling like someone had been punching me all night long, in addition to the headache, which is not as bad as before bed, but still there. Head stuffy, scratchy throat, eyes a little runny. GREAT. I picked up some crud along the way yesterday. No fever, so it can't be all that bad. Extra 500mg of Vit C, with more to follow during the day today. Time will tell what this is.

  4. GF got it Thursday afternoon. Couldn't even make it home from work without pulling over to vomit. Stayed up most of the night with her, she got a bit better in the morning and she forced herself to go to work. All better today. I felt a bit bad a few days ago, but I rarely get sick, so my symptoms weren't as bad when I had it earlier. As to what it is, no clue.

  5. It's like the prophet Rosanne Rosanna Dana said, "it's always something. If it's not one thing, it's something else."

More to the point, there's always something going around. When did something that sounds like the flu become news? In China, they locked down Shanghai, a big, modern city over Covid - they have a Covid Zero policy. It's OK to starve you death, or kill you in a dozen other ways, but don't you dare get a virus with a tenth of a percent fatality rate!

  6. All those symptoms from different parts of the country. From now on my first question will be: did you get vaccinated and boosted? Lets start with that one first and then branch off from there.
Seasonal allergies? The oak pollen is landing on my white car and giving it a green hue.

  7. This weekend, I started hearing (or noticing) radio PSAs for RSV - respiratory syncytial virus, which presents a lot like Covid, but isn't the same bug. The fact that they're pushing these ads makes me think that there's a serious issue lurking. It's something that's regularly tracked, but doesn't make the news because it's not normally significant. There was a bigger than usual (3X) spike reported in Florida last year that seemed to be hitting harder than usual. Lockdowns and movement restrictions slowed down its usual seasonal spread, so when people got out again, it exploded.

There was an "unprecedented outbreak" of RSV in Taiwan in 2020, with a strain carrying a set of new mutations, which are associated with lower oxygen saturation in hospitalized patients. That could be getting around now. RSV variant ON1 is the key phrase to look for.

Probably some combination of worse strain, wider spread, and maybe synergistic effects in combination with previous covid exposure.

  8. RSV highly contagious. Serious bout going around when my last kid was born be mindful. Did read a few clips today about mrna destroying immunity but it was on the innerwebs. Thanks be to God for being a pureblood with the antibodies. No idea when I had it.

  9. I'll just say the vector is likely found in the stream of illegals from various turd wirld countries flooding the border and being dumped around the country paid by your taxes.

    1. Seems logical, especially given that the illegals are being parked all over the country.

  10. Classic cold in the pacific northwest. No vomiting but some nausea and the other symptoms are spot on. About 60 miles North of Seattle but stay within my community - not been to the big shitty in several years.

  11. Deceit Thy Name is Pfizer

“This was a clinical trial that Pfizer and the FDA knew were failing…”

Pfizer knew their 100mg dose destroyed recipients white blood cells or at least suppress them. It appears, everyone who got this dose does indeed have AIDS.

  12. AND a snippet in the newspaper about an heretofore-unknown bug popping up "in several countries" causing kids to develop "serious liver disease". Believed to possibly be related to "a cold virus". We're living in interesting times. Dammit.

Here in WI, we had essentially no 2021 flu season but 2022 has had two pediatric flu deaths so far. Uh-oh.

Perhaps Dr. Red Guy could elaborate?

  13. I've had the same thing since early last week with accompanying bone and muscle aches. Lots of mucous coming out now (nose and throat) Non vaxxed, NO TESTING. When "it" started last week, began another round of C, Zinc, B12, Fish Oil, Potassium, and multivitamin. It's a slow mend but my immune system is working. Thank the forces of good I scheduled vacation half of last week and all of this week.

  14. In the past couple of weeks I've seen a respiratory illness and now we're seeing a "stomach flu" (vomiting and other end) that comes on fast n strong, lasts 24 hrs, and leaves lethargic for another 24. Central Illinois

  15. Lots of immune system compromises thanks to The Clot Shot - maybe we are breeding a more virulent grade of bugs?

    1. What compromises do you speak of, what do you know? How has the shot compromised our immune system? I've not heard/read anything about it, if you could let us know that would be great. Thanks!

  16. I was sick as a dog about 6 weeks ago, home test negative, pre flight test, negative. Today, stuffy nose, had to test before flying to a remote mine site, positive, F-it I didn't want to go to work anyway.

  18. Remember when people just got sick and it wasn't post worthy news. For that matter, after Easter my sister ended up testing positive for covid, so far she hasn't passed it on to anyone else. She's not feeling great, typical covid... she's the marathon running, goes to the gym every day, type of person though so I'm sure she'll be fine.

  19. I got it a week ago, my sons the week before that. No vomiting but mild fever and a nasty cough that I'm still can't kick. Central Texas. I heard it's influenza-A...
