Had both of these albums Back In The Day. In my high school French class (of which I remember absolutely nothing) in 1970, a friend and I used Season Of The Witch as background music in a skit we did.
Hard to beat Steve Winwood, Dave Mason, Chris Wood etc. Great music way back when and great music now. Anything Steve Winwood does is good. Between my sister and I we had all the albums. Good times

I was born in 1960, so a lot of these groups I never discovered until the early 80's. The Traffic video, was the first time that I actually saw a sax player using a piezo microphone. I played in a rock band, in the early 90's, and considered using one of that type, but then, they were simply too expensive, while the sound was thin on the cheaper ones. But the good ones sounded really good, especially to cut through guitars and drums. I ended up going with a couple of Shure microphones, one at the bell, and one a bit higher up. And I made sure that I set my own mic volume level, or they would keep me too low, and I had to blow my brains out for 4 straight hours. I have seen more concerts since marrying my wife, than in my entire life before that. One of the best ones, was Christopher Cross, who was impressive, sounds just the same after all this time. And we saw BJ Thomas in Florida, several years ago, may he RIP. There are several that I would love to go to, but I just refuse to pay over 100$ for one ticket to see them. Unless Sade goes on tour again. For her, and her band, I would pay that much. The thing is, there are a bunch of very good bands who play in bars, or at outdoor events in the summer, but just don't make the big time, due to the way the music industry is now. You have to build a huge following on youtube, or another internet service, like half a million or a million followers, before a label will even talk to you. The days of being good just don't matter anymore. You can't cut an album, go on the road to promote it, and then cut another, while building your name. The music industry won't risk any money. The only put out money on a guaranteed profit maker, and that is a band with a million followers on the internet who will buy their tracks online, and pass the word, and buy tickets to concerts. And now, talent is not even as important, if you can believe that. I talked to a guy my twin brother knows, who used to work in the industry, but got out. He said that it is run like a fortune 500 business now, with hardly nobody who cares about the music, but a bunch of accountants in suits and ties. There are some music guys, but not like the old days. A lot of times now, I just cue up youtube, put on some 1970's concert, and let it play. At least I get to hear what the band really sounds like, and back then, almost all of them who made it were good.
Super Session. It's been a while. Was season of the witch on the Kooper or the Stills side? I think I read somewhere that Stills filled in for someone at the last minute. My failing memory says it was Hendrix that fell out. Anyway. It takes a lot to laugh. It takes a train to cry.
