and it starts..... ETA update

We have some new staff from corporate at our facility.

Yesterday, one of our machinists returned from medical leave and needed to sign some paperwork.

He returned with said new employee who stated his shirt was offensive.

I thought said employee was kidding.

Nope.

He had to change it or turn it inside out.

It was an old faded Harley Tee that had silkscreen art of a girl in a bikini on a Harley.

Similar to this but faded almost to the point of being unreadable.

We are doomed.

ETA.  I can see where it was a bit ambiguous in my description.  Said corporate employee

is new in the office and a female.  For a week or so there was no red flags as to this type of situation

rearing it's ugly head. Needless to say I was a bit flabbergasted.

This shirt would cause an aneurysm no doubt:

  1. I see nothing at this point to stop the bleeding. We are, indeed, doomed. The fight needed to happen last year before, during, and immediately after the election. Thanks your local RINOs.

    1. All of the people that showed up on Jan 6th in support of Trump should have come armed. The left staged a coup, we should have taken the country back.

  2. As I’m driving to work today I’m thinking, “what if I decided that I find masks to be offensive they are a sign of subjugation and compliance and oppression . I find that offensive.” Do you think that anything would be done about that?

    1. There was an interesting story circulating the webz where an employee had a company start with the pronoun bullshit, they them stuff. Said employee didn't amend their signature, some SJW questioned them.
      So they went to HR.
SJW got a writeup about not rrspecting others pronouns. Infuriated, she persisted with HR that said employee was full of shit.
      Second formal writeup against SJW.

Use their magic against them. They are defenseless.

  3. June 29 and I'll have 21? or 22? years, which means I have either three or four years to retirement. With the ever constantly changing asinine policies no way can i stay beyond 25 years. The policy changes but we don't find out until we're not in compliance with some BS and we get our "first warning".

  6. I was a manager in an old union plant, I had a couple of union employees who had those magazines with pics of bikini clad women, I told them to get rid of them, we had women working there. The union rep came to see me, we compromised that the magazines should be kept in a locker. Even my HR dept did not want to deal with it.

    1. My similar story is in the rollers pulpit of a steel mill. Inside was covered with pinups. A woman bid in, knowing what was there. She qualified, laughed, and started putting up similar from playgirl. Everyone dealt with the situation

That was back when the adults were in charge and people were responsible and mature.

Unfortunately today we have the second generation of children who were never disciplined and never grew up

  12. Ah, yes. I remember being told the same thing about a t-shirt I wore to work. It had a Rat-Fink like caricature of a rat with the legend "So who gives a human's ass?". At the time I worked in the building all night with two other people that thought it was hilarious.

  13. We have a computer in our breakroom. Some saturdays I'll catch up on FFF on my lunch hour. Been doing this for years here and no women have ever expressed anything negative or anything at all for that matter. Not even the plant manager, and she's a woman. A good one, I might add. Last week, a 30 something supervisor called me out and said, "Ohio Guy, that's a work computer." I gave the little fag "the look" and said, "Does this offend you?" in a most stern voice. Little fag boy sheepishly says, "Nooo" and that was the end of it. Some folks need to just MYOB. Focus on you and I focus on me with the main focus on helping each other out so we can get the work done and get through our day as smooth as possible. The power and control freaks need checked from time to time sos they don't get overly stupid and wind up with a sore face. It's happened before. Hope it doesn't have to happen again. Ohio Guy

  15. I would suggest that everyone from the shop wear that shirt the next day or one like it. Challenge the new dweeb in the office to reprimand the entire staff and risk a job action on their part.

Problem is that we have allowed 'shaming' to become accepted practice when the 'woke' generation is confronted with the traditional 'American Heritage' generation. Making this worse is if the media got hold of any news of a group trying to keep the vestiges of the past alive they would crucify that group on the altar of new ageism and Wokeness.

In the past we lived and let live. Not any more. We are being conquered one tiny corner of our lives at a time. It is acceptable to whine and demand your feelings matter more than anyone else's.

In all honesty, the neutering of the American Male. I am sorry to say that when the next big challenge that demands real men come to the fore we will be left with Soy boys all whining 'I'm too scared to fight'.

  16. Skilled machinists can't be that easy to come by.
Get the crew together, and walk out.
They can have a woke paper shuffler, or a working operation.

You know it will get worse if it is not stopped.

  19. Corporate always sent a lawyer in at my place of employment that I spent over 35 years of my life at. The same guy, normally, he explained that it simply would not fly to either wear this sort of shirt, or to have a calendar with bikini clad women, and of course, Playboy or similar magazines were Verboten!
Looking at it from the companies perspective, I actually can understand. In our lawsuit happy world, a woman, or for that matter, even a man, could eventually end up with a lawsuit that the company would lose. Just like the lawyer would explain that using the so called N-word or even calling someone gay could be considered harassment and would end up with you fired, period.
Mind you, I spent this 35 plus years in a steel melt shop, with some men who had limited educations, as well as those who had 4 year degrees in college. When you are all working in the same difficult and dangerous conditions, it can at times make you say things that you might not otherwise say, especially if the other person might cause you to get a burn due to their mistake. The thing is, you simply cannot lash out at the in anger by calling them a name. I guess that in some ways that is a good thing.
Myself, for my entire life, I have always tried to treat people kindly, no matter if I was angry with them or not. So this is no big deal for me. But some people might have grown up with parents who were different and who felt no problem with using the so called N-word or calling someone queer or gay, as an insult. The world is changing, but kindness and decency have not, and I have no problem with rules against pictures or shirts that make some people uncomfortable. The workplace is a privately owned place that they get to set the rules at, and a person could always quit.

    1. That is what got us here in the first place. Thank you for that. Everyone under 50 in the country is thabkful you put dems in charge (with union money) and happily took it in the ass. I really hope you get to see how this story ends

    4. You don't understand. As an at will worker, without a union, the employer can fire you for any reason other than one of the protected class of things, such as your religion, race, gender, etc. They can fire you due to the fact that they don't like the way you comb your hair, or that you are left handed.
At will really means at will. And no union that I know of would be able to save your job if you use the so called N-word in front of a bunch of people at work.

      Delete
    5. I bet you had a fear of your "peranent record" in school. Unions are part of the problem not a solution. Stop being afraid

  20. And then, said new employee got a welcoming tire iron across the knees in the parking lot, and then a crotch kick, and was told "BFYTW!", along with a suggestion to take their pussy-assed whiny bitch routine over to some other employer, because the second offense would go rather more harshly.

    And angles in heaven rejoiced.

  23. There are two main ways to combat this nonsense: 1) on the corporate/business level fire the HR person to make sure another soy drinker is never hired again; 2) on the employee level fight fire with fire. Get a core group (the more the better) to lodge 1-2 daily complaints using every sjw reason out there. Accuse and turn the piece of refuse into the very thing they think they're fighting. And no more of this 'take the higher road' crap. These communist (and make no mistake that's what they are) will not shed a tear should your entire family be executed for being racists/transphobic/white etc whatever the cause du jour is. The least you can do is hold them up to the same fantastical and unobtainable ideals they place on us.

  25. It started sometime ago, really Clinton-era... And the past two years have seen it seep out from the dark corners of progressivism (mostly the teachers and media unions) and infect the bureaucratic norms (mostly public service). Now this is seeping into private industry too. It was once easy to ignore; now it is stepping on everyone's toes.

  29. And it starts....?
Well not really as it's been happening for decades. I've worked in places where hardcore mags were the norm and worked in places where tame pinups were frowned upon.
It all comes back to human psychology and in particular, rejection (for men)and inferiority (for women).
So I'd suspect your head office flunky has been rejected in the past by an attractive woman and now has disdain for such women.
These days any business needs to be a "closed club" to engage in the acts of years gone by...
    Ignore him and move on.

  33. The new hire is a company lawsuit waiting to happen. If they get away with imposing their culture on the company this time they will do it again in future. And if they don’t get their way they’ll narc to OSHA or some other regulatory outfit. As a manager I’d nod / smile / comply then lay them off at the end of their 90 day probation period with no cause given. If there isn’t a probation period and it’s a right to work state out they go too. If neither applies then I’ll document every violation of employment rules, counsel them weekly and fire them for insubordination

  36. I failed the sexual harassment training test.

Chick in HR emailed me like 5 seconds after I submitted the test, told me I'd have to retake and pass the test that day or I'd be suspended without pay until I did pass.

I asked her on what page in the employee handbook that scenario was listed.

She didn't respond. An hour later my manager called, said quit screwing around with the snowflakes in HR and pass the damn test. He could barely get all that out because he was laughing so hard.

So I just stopped working on my customers $120k machine that was down, dragged out the laptop and actually paid attention and passed it.

Never did get that page #. A whole dept full of people getting paid to keep the lawyers happy.

I'm retired as of last year and so happy to be out of all that BS.

  37. As a manager I was directed that I had to not only accept the LGBTQA agenda, but I was told I had to also advocate for it. So instead of setting myself up to get fired, I simply went dark and made sure the subject could never be brought up in my presence - ever. I couldn't wait to retire and did so a full year before my wife was ready for me to do it.
