Jack and his kind have a sort of advantage in that not only were they warriors in this life, but many previous lives. Only true warriors know of what I speak/type to be true. The nonbeliever will certainly view this as "crazy talk". Ohio Guy
Any man, officer or private, who earns the title of 'Mad Jack' in the British Army is worthy of total respect. You should have a look at Anders Lassen or Robert Blair Mayne.
wow, impressive man!
ReplyDeleteAlways lovely to hear about a guy who lived a full life. Puts The Most Interesting Man In The World (Jonathan Goldsmith) to shame.
ReplyDeleteWell done, love history.
ReplyDeleteI thoroughly enjoyed the part about him throwing his briefcase out the train window.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely both. A shame that his like seems to have vanished in the modern age.
ReplyDeleteNo, Mad Jack was no "badass" (hate that stupid word). He was a highly motivated soldier who went to war in the manner of his forebears.
ReplyDeleteHe did a great job of rebuilding 2 Commando after St Naziare.
Awesome story
