There was nothing like the Moody Blues before them, and there's precious little in the world of prog-rock that doesn't owe them an enormous debt. Justin Hayward was the key to most of that.
Anyone have Jeff Wayne's musical version of War of the World's? Great version with Richard Burton narrating, Justin Hayward and Phil Lynott vocals, and Julie Covington as Beth. Excellent Ohhhh-lahhhs...and black smoke riffs.
I had this album brand new. Thanks for the memory
ReplyDeleteI too have the album, absolutely love it. Vinyl.

ReplyDeleteYes, on LP with the full size cover.
DeleteVery nice, too bad he didn't tell us what the American guy's name was who sent it to him.
