  4. On my first trip to England, the office handed me the keys to their lone "motor pool" car. It was an old Volvo wagon, stick, manual choke, and right hand drive. The advice: look right, watch out for the roundabouts, and don't get pulled over. Good advice.

  6. Liberal passenger to Conservative driver: "What's that?"

    Conservative driver: "That's a choke."

    Liberal passenger: "What's it for?"

Conservative driver: "Keep talking your crap, and you'll find out!"

  10. I am curious about the percentage of people (currently) who would have a clue what a choke knob was, or how to modulate it during warmup to prevent stalling, hesitation, or failure to start. Probably even a greater percentage than those who could operate a stick (manual) shift transmission car. At least based on my assessment of the percentage of current drivers who can visualize the purpose and actual use of, a turn signal......I mean, how often, as in times per day, have you sat at an intersection, waiting to pull out into the flow, and some a$$hat turns without signalling said intention, but you are waiting for a safe (and legal, I might add) opportunity to make your move? Hellooo is this thing on?
