Geez.. I surprised myself....

I saw this vocabulary quiz posted over at Blogbrother Borepatch's

After reading my own blog, I would never think I could score this high....

  1. With me, I think it is a reflection of how much better the public schools were in the 1960s and 1970s, along with reading some books with a challenging vocabulary (e.g. Tolkien)

    1. I would imagine that's a good part of it. I graduated HS in 1981. I remember all the reading I had to do in English class. Not my favorite.

Some if the books were animal farm, Fahrenheit 451, and 1984. I think the stuff we read are all banned now.

    2. My tween had her personal copy of 1984 confiscared at school until we wrote a note giving permission for her to read it. The principal was so "concerned" that our daughter was reading "age inappropriate" material of a "subversive" nature.

    1. Monty, we both beat the Irishman by the same amount. I am shocked that I did that well,
since I hated English class with a purple passion! I do not think I can remember even
ten percent of the rules of the rules of grammar and I frankly suck at composition!

  3. 29,450 and I bet I could get even higher.

My mother taught me how to read before I started first grade.

My weakest subject has always been the language arts - sorry to say, but that doesn't make you look so good! Lol
