    1. Yes. And the little bastards are not so much the ticks but the demonic fucksticks that make such things.

  2. Permethrin spray. Wally World carries it. Tall yellow can in the camping section with the bug spray. Spray it on the uppers of your shoes and pant legs from leg hem to crotch. Let dry before wearing the shoes or the pants. If you're going to sit on a log or stone wall for a break while hiking, spray the backside of your pants.

DO NOT GET IT ON YOUR HANDS OR OTHER EXPOSED SKIN. If you do wash thoroughly.

Lore says they don't drop from trees. I believe that's booolchit. They routinely make their way onto our hats at camp when sitting outside. No other way for them to get there unless they're dropping from the leaf canopy overhead.

    1. Back in 2001, my family went on vacation in the northeast. My youngest, who was like 5 at the time, picked up a tick behind his ear, right at the hairline. That had to come from above.

    2. Ticks have legs. They can climb.

  3. Nemo@1105:
You're spraying only your shoes and pants? Do your entire ensemble. The beasts hang out on blades of grass and shrubbery waiting for you to pass by; they grab onto your untreated shirt and scramble upwards. Farm&Fleet has permethrin in gallon jugs for treating stables; the concentration is different than those little expensive yellow bottles, so some math may be involved.

  4. Now that suspected pedo gates has dropped these ticks to bite us, does that make us free to drop things where they will bite him, or does this constitute an assault?

  6. Could it ever be more evident the entire hierarchy of the world is corrupt and evil.

  7. Ticks have a natural tendency to climb up once they get on something. They lurk on vegetation and wait for something to brush against them and climb on than up. To be successful in what they do they have to get somewhere that the host can not get them off easily

  8. The interwebs say's Gates is innocent and it's really climate change (eye roll emoji )

The conspiracy theory claiming Bill Gates is responsible for the rise in tick-related allergies is false. The increase in tick populations and related allergies is primarily driven by climate change, not any secret plot involving Gates or his foundation.

    1. CO2 driven climate change is a scam and always has been. Virtually ALL their claims are manure.

  9. growing up in the70's in NH, I think I saw a single tick. and we were feral woods kids...building forts out of sticks, climbing trees, stomping around until the street lights came on.

ticks are also killing 70% or more of moose calves.

I remember as a kid thinking that there is something missing from north america that seems to be in parts of world that has a lot of large mammals...oxpeckers. why is there no north american oxpecker? maybe there was, but with the demise of the large buffalo herds it went extinct? I bet cattle farmers would welcome such a bird.
