It was our side that did that. The infil birds were iffy to fly, so they were torched. SOP on an infil exfil in hostile territory. The good news is the mission planners accounted for downed aircraft and had enough spare birds available to get everyone out. Good job all around.
There will be stories told and action planning/execution primers written for war college courses. There will also be well deserved medals awarded. A job well done by the boys in blue and green.
Name one other country that could pull off a rescue like that in hostile territory or the operation that snatched Mr. and Mrs. Maduro from a secure military base where NONE of our guys died.
The Russians and the Chinese are scratching their asses saying whoa they did WHAT? WTF???
The Russians and the Chinese are testing their weapons against our hardware on somebody else's war. They are also taking note of every operation we conduct. If we ever have to face the Russians or the Chinese they will be much more ready for us thanks to this little "excursion"
Are you the same a-nony-mouse who accused Trump of wanting to kill 20+ million Iranians? The Iranians were pretty busy running around chasing ghosts and rumors, at least until some scumbag around here leaked info that told the raggedy Akbars that there even was another American missing. Ayatollah says "Thanks, my friend!" Wadda maroon...
One tidbit the was reported is that the locals in the area where the WSO was held up in did not like the current regime and clogged the roads leading into the area the IRGC would need to take. A tactic that can be used in may settings and situations.
If they didn't even try to rescue the crewman (Think Obama and Biden) then the Operations Officer would have woke up the next morning with a whole lot less people willing to strap an airplane to their ass.
well, these things almost never go as planned. and EVERY one is different. no two are ever the same. I have known guys on "ops" like this and they all admit you have to expect loss and shit that NO ONE ever saw coming. Murphy is alive and well. and more than willing to throw a wrench into anything you may plan for. see this as what it really is. a PR op to get our guy back home. history tells a very different story. there a LOTS of times the US Gov't left our troops to whatever fate that was coming for them.
Awesome.
ReplyDeletethey missed the part were the iranians blew up 3-4 little birds and 2 c130s....
ReplyDeleteSo, you’re rooting for Iran? Got it.

ReplyDeleteI voted for walls, not wars just for clarity
