What Might Be Different At This Week's HS Football Games In MISSISSIPPI?

H.S. Football Friday Night Turned Deadly Last Week In Mississippi At 3 Schools: 9 Dead, Dozens Injured, FBI Investigates

Had it not been for a friend who listens to sports-talk-radio asking me, I would have missed this story. I have been a "good" kind of busy lately during this gorgeous weather we have been experiencing here in north Alabama. Not familiar with these shootings, I fired up the box and started searching. There were a few mentions in some in the bigger outlets, but most were buried. These types of shootings and suppression of these stories has been going on a while. Nowadays, both problems are happening much too frequently. The majority of the media has deceived and failed the citizenry. The Judiciary branch has failed us as well from top (federal), failing to arrest, prosecute, and punish those who will not conform to the basic laws of society. Like most people I know, I make every effort to avoid any potentially dangerous situations/places. I know if you are reading this, you probably do too. I implore all to reenforce to those you care about who are not already on board and/or fully committed to always be very aware of their surroundings, get a handgun/training, always carry it, and avoid crowds/sketchy locales, etc. Stay safe.  Story

  1. Ole Remus said it for years. Two of the wisest sayings ever.

    Stay away from crowds

Get out of the big city

Addendum - A year early is better than a day late.

    1. Yes, and my daddy's favorite regarding gas tanks in automobile, "it's just as easy to keep it half full as it is half empty".

  2. I was not surprised when I dug into it.

There was a shootout at a post game party the next town over last weekend. Thirty rounds fired and nobody hit by a bullet. Nobody arrested for shooting as nobody saw anything as they all ran for cover. No weapons found. There were quite a few underage drinking arrests. The local newspaper ran a one paragraph story on it where it was berried after the legal publication pages.

  4. Here in Utah we had a sniper and an overwatch team during a Friday night High School football game. No other details of "Why?", but maybe a reaction by LE to a threat or deep-level warnings of some type or other. Haven't heard anything since.

  5. Avoiding crowds is a good idea, but avoiding certain types of crowds is a better one.

    1. The game to watch (not actual football, but those attending/body count/etc.) will be this weekend in Birmingham for the "Magic City Classic" The MCC is the largest match of HISTORICALLY BLACK COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY FOOTBALL GAME in the country. I'm guessing at least four people in town who will be in town for the game will be shot and killed next weekend for something as simple as a perceived "disrespecting" . Birmingham City Police Department knows its coming too. I hope they can keep the lid on it, but historically speaking........ I will not be in attendance.

    1. It can cause an almost maddening itch in one or more digits once your resolve hardens.

  10. At least half of the people in the country think white men are responsible for75% of mass shootings because too many mass shootings are not covered by the media.

  11. These incidents nearly ALWAYS involve "the usual suspects". And only an idiot would attend ANY event where these "suspects" are present. The one thing this demographic can always be relied upon to provide is violence.
