"Something in the Air Tonight" and "Mad World" = perfection. His facial expressions appear as pain while playing but it's just that he's violently fighting every last shred of mediocrity.
What an interesting interview, and one with more questions than answers. Immense talent and someone with a ton of independence and character. Thank you for illuminating that for us.
Mark Knopfler and Eric Clapton should snatch this guy up, put him in a mansion with a recording studio, jam with him for a month, and start cutting albums. Split the royalties at 1/3rd apiece, and ride it to the last lick.
This guy makes Eddie Van Halen and Joe Satriani sound like lightweights.
