That's Right. Keep Caving. It Has Not Worked The Last 60 Years
A 100+ year old football rival game between Gordo High School and Pickens County High School has been cancelled due to a social media post. Apparently Pickens County (majority black) got the but hurt about the Gordo High's (majority white) cheerleaders social media posting for a safari themed dress-up for game day asking fans and students to dress as tour guides, jungle animals, or to bring safari themed props (i.e. "jungle food", bananas, etc.). They've obviously never heard the "sticks and stones" children's rhyme. Besides, I wouldn't let Gordo "make a monkey out of me".
'Sticks and stones' doesn't work when the subject is primed and ready to go off. They had no choice but to to cancel- there would have been mostly peaceful rioting, and whatever school it was held at would've burned.
ReplyDeleteHm...maybe the "black fatigue' is going mainstream. It's starting to be expressed publicly. And what's funny....they don't like to be the butt of jokes.
ReplyDeleteErp, just had a thought....when will that "white" school get shot up? Oh lordy, taint nutten to get dem's to dos dat.
most of 'em can't spell good enough to make the ammo p.c.
DeleteIt reminds me of the rivalry between high schools in my home town. The game between the mostly white and black school was a game where you didn't wander around under the stands, and avoided the concession stand. Eventually, the schools were merged into one large school, and the rivalry continues between the thugs that wander the halls.
ReplyDeleteOver at Jig A Boo U?
ReplyDeleteCurious as to what the reaction would've been had Gordo posted, "Take the cotton-Pickens Tornadoes to the woodshed."
ReplyDeleteThe fact that they fraternize with negros is appalling.
ReplyDeleteWould someone text them a clue already?
They look for things to be offended about. It justifies their idiotic lives.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm... It's almost as if TPTB are admitting that a certain demographic will, with 100% assurance, resort to violence if there's even a perceived instance of "disrespect." (From a bunch of high school CHEERLEADERS, ferfucksake.)
ReplyDeleteChallenge:
"Tell me blacks, as a "community," have ZERO self-control and a YUGE sense of unearned self-entitlement without telling me that blacks have ZERO self-control and a YUGE sense of unearned self-entitlement."
Offense is received, not given. Disregard the offense, and there can be civil discourse. Unless you are up to a duel, rationality is pertinent to both sides.
ReplyDelete...but they'll call us crackers, White Supremacists, Nazi's and Fascists all day long.
ReplyDeleteEff them.
Nemo
Probably the smartest move by the Gordo HS Cheerleaders. The game could have ended up like the Kalamazoo - Lakeshore game with a player receiving a life altering injury with no consequences for the 'Zoo player (what an appropriate slang term).
ReplyDeleteSeminar Williams got butt hurt by a cotton plant in a hotel that I'm sure most of us can't afford to stay at today
ReplyDeleteThey do have a Tradition of "dressing up", but this one was just plain STUPID! Seriously? Monkees? Bananas? Doing that crap for a predominantly black school?? What they should have done is have the game but suspend all those who thought this was a good idea! Now they said the "intent" was not to "offend", but come on! This is the year 2025 and it's been established for a LONG time that racial issues need to CALM DOWN - this would not be helpful! Why do this crap - BE RESPECTFUL!
ReplyDeleteWere you ever a youth? Or a grumpy curmudgeon all your days?
DeleteIf they didn't like it, why did they claim? They made monies of themselves. They could have let it slide. But that takes resolve. Their character is lacking.
ReplyDeleteNow they own it, they are jungle bunnies.
