I couldn't have said it better

She has a gift for gab and does an excellent job of describing Buc-ee's regardless if it someone's first time or their one hundredth visit to the beaver bedecked "store". I went inside the first one of these stores I ever saw some years ago. I think I have been to one other since and that was because someone in the group had never been and wanted to go. It is a famous "oddity" and it pretty much is exactly like the pretty woman said. In case clicking on the image doesn't work......

  1. damn. they put Sheetz to shame ! on a road trip one time we got some food at Sheetz.in the past , we always drove by and didn't stop. then we did try it out. the food was a lot better than most roadside food (mickey's d, BK or Arbbys) the wife loves the fact the bathrooms are always clean too.
their tacos need some help though. fair price on gasoline too.
so, if one of them do open up in PA. we have to make a trip to see and check it out.
Buc-ee's here we come ! BQ is kind of hit or miss here in pa. dave inpa.

  3. Interesting. It's probably 1000 miles to the nearest Buc-ees to me. I haven't measured it. Does she look high maintenance, or what?

  4. Nope, I was wrong, only 560 miles to the nearest one. Road Trip!

    1. 750 miles due south to my nearest one... and not enough trucking to get one anytime soon...

  5. By the grace of God we were directed to fly cross country to the Creation Museum, the Arc, and Dollywood. Never heard of Buc-ees but the grandkids were well aware. What a place. This lady is spot on. So now we tell folks to plan a trip to western Kentucky and Tennessee. Somewhere in the area is the largest Buc-ees. After ten minutes to fill the tank we spent another two hours wandering thru Buc-ees. Had a blast. Unlike most tourist attractions we did not leave with $300 worth of memories. We left with $50 worth of stuff that still makes us laugh.

  6. She's excellent. I assume she wrote the script and then delivered it, but whoever wrote it the script is funny and it's just perfect for the deadpan, droll way she delivers it.

    3. You made me watch her 2 more times, gee that was tough. She's real, there are "director" cuts where she either flubbed it or started laughing. Watch her eyes.

  8. One opened nearby - the first in Colorado. Stopped by for gas hoping they would have cheap 'bring you in' price. Nope. Didn't go inside and haven't been back. There is a Love's truck stop five minutes down the road with no traffic jam to contend with.

  9. If Fox News hasn't already offered her a $100K/week contract to do a weekly 3-minute Andy Rooney-style video essay just like this one, they're insanely moronic.

  10. I don't care to like folks that don't like Bucc-ees.

  11. Don't have one here (yet?).
But after pulling up a few pictures, all I can say is, Sweet Jesus, it's time for a road trip!.

  15. I use Buccee's as an inducement to behave on car trips - Behave or we're going to Buccee's. Works like magic, since my daughters hate crowds.

  16. Buc-ee's is just the modern big box incarnation of Stuckey's

  17. My family loves stopping at Buccees. Our first encounter was in Waco, TX years ago. That’s where I got my cut sheet metal sign that says, “The Neighbors Have Better Stuff” that hangs on the front of my garage door side post. New I had to have it when I spotted it.

    1. After that comment, I had to find out WTH a beaver nugget is. You can read about them here:

      https://enchantingtexas.com/bucees-beaver-nuggets/

You can also get them from Amazon if you're curious after reading the description and being too far away to get to one of their locations. There's a link to the Amazon listing in the article.

This a PSA. I'm not associated Buc-ees, Amazon or beaver nuggets.

  19. Buc-ees is my wifes Interstate version of a shopping mall, we took her family from Ireland there when we started our road trip last year when they came over to see more of America. It was the first time i ever saw people stop in their tracks and stare with eyes wide open in awe. After several visits to Buc-ees for fuel over several states they still had trouble believing they were that big

  20. See for a moment there I though “beaver nuggets” was a euphemism for what comes out of the back end of the beaver.

  24. Love the wall of jerky, really good Brisket sammiches for gas station food, excellent variety of snacks. Lined to burritos better when they were made to order rather than an assembly line.

  25. I thought I could eat the large brisket sandwich. It makes a good next day lunch.

  27. I live a couple miles from a Buc-ee's and I don't go very often. But they do have reliably clean restrooms, and plenty of them!
Also they had plenty of ice, gas, and food after the hurricane this summer. And if you've never been through a hurricane on the Texas Gulf Coast, those are the most important things! No power for a week, so I needed gas for the generator. You have to have ice to keep from becoming homicidal. And I matter what food you stocked up on before the hurricane, you really don't want to cook. Buc-ee's was barbecuing right away. Hot meal to go!!
And their breakfast burritos are choice!!

  28. I’ve been to several Buc-ees around Texas. Nothing she says is wrong, and very little is exaggerated. Beaver nuggets are what Corn Pops could have been. They’re insanely addictive.

    Is she married??
