Here is a great follow up, where the journalist actually does his job interviewing the town manager.
This is inaccurate information! It was the Assistant Chief who did it! pic.twitter.com/nNWDikzN2W

Melton's picture is out there now so I guess, for better or worse, locals will judge his actions as reasonable or unreasonable based on whether they think assistance, especially such quality assistance, should be thanked rather than threatened. I suspect he'll be low profile for a while.
ReplyDeleteI fear you are dreaming, and are bitten by the triumph of hope over experience bug.
DeleteThe elite tyrants will NOT be stopped until they are stopped by other forces; their internal governors are busted.
They had him come back the next day or did you miss that
DeleteShooty-shooty-bang-bang
DeleteRules are rules in a dictatorship. Send a request to be saved, in triplicate of course, to FEMA and they'll add you to the bottom of the pile of illegals that get whatever the hell they want from our dictatorship.
ReplyDeleteGotit?
Orange Man Bad. (those three words prevents this message from being auto-censored).
Sieg Heil!
We'll finally get a female Frau Fuehrer, we'll be all full of JOY. While starving.
"Kraft durch Freude" ("Strength Through Joy") has been tried before.
DeleteFEMA must have hired loads of DEIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII people, with the 'I' of course for INCOMPETENT.
ReplyDeleteDiversity is our Adversity.
DeleteI would never advocate violence toward any woman regardless of how infuriating her behavior. That said, the young woman's indifference needs to be slapped out of her. What lame-brains placed her in such a responsible position?
ReplyDeleteLooking like a Blue enclave. Got what they voted for. Blues will collect their insurance and move out. Guess how long she'll hold office with just Reds left?
DeleteThat way of thinking is what has caused this mess
DeleteThe government can always step in and make things much worse than they already are! The need to control every little thing is what keeps your average public servant energized.
ReplyDeleteI worked EMS/fire in a rural county. When the Feds showed up, so did the cluster***. And took all the credit.
DeleteThat's just another damn bureaucrat - like the "city manager" - they don't care about anything than their procedures and area of authority - not responsibility!
ReplyDeleteMr. "Respect Maw Authority!"
ReplyDeleteCompletely maddening.
ReplyDeleteSoviet-style blindness to reality. There is no recovery for those people in Absolute Authority.
So just don't listen to them.
That officious lady near the end exemplifies government in all it's awfulness. Instead of coming out and saying the idiot who threatened the pilot trying to save their citizens was wrong, she went full defensive government hack protecting another incompetent government hack. The people who pay their salaries are their least concern.
ReplyDeleteWe need a new feature on X called "Who Killed Your Family In N.C." Start with these videos. Take video of any obstructionist shit and tell them you are posting it there.
Delete"i'm from the government and i'm here to help" as long as you do as i say when, where, why and how "cuz i'm your boss"
ReplyDeleteLET GOD SORT 'EM OUT . jackasses !
They did the very same authoritarian shit during "Covid". I see we haven't learned anything.
ReplyDeleteHaving volunteered for 11 years with my local fire/ambulance department; I can see the side of those government drones.
ReplyDeleteBUT, being a human being; I can see the need for quick and rapid response to save human lives.
I side with the citizens that risked their lives to help out.
The Woman was covering her butt, with rules. Hope she is replaced soon. This makes me very angry, and sad, for our country on the one hand, and very proud that there are Americans willing to go the extra mile to help others.
ReplyDeleteLocal officials start a pissing and dick-measuring match. Criminally incompetent. They should never hold office again.
ReplyDeleteEven now the town officials are bullshitting to hide their incompetence. They should be removed from office.
ReplyDeleteBoth the city manager and asst fire chief need to be fired.
ReplyDeleteThe 'locals' know where these two live - FAFO
DeleteOnly if the "firing" involves actual flames and torches.
DeleteShe makes out like the Jordan (pilot) had no quals. He gave his quals to the Michigan Chief. And he obeyed all FCC requirements for flying there.
ReplyDelete"His son, a high school junior, went along. Both are volunteer members of the Sandhills Volunteer Fire Department in Pageland, South Carolina. Seidhom is a Class 1 certified law enforcement officer and a pilot with nearly 1,400 flight hours."

The eight worst words to hear in a disaster with this Administration " I'M FROM THE GOVERNMENT, I'M HERE TO HELP"
ReplyDeleteUnbelievable bullshit. Who gave the fireman arrest authority. This is like Uvalde Tx where the police physically stopped the parents from rescuing their own children and then stood around with their thumb up their ass is children were killed. The fireman suffered severe butt hurt because this hero's action made him look incompetent. A crisis or national emergency doesn't negate the constitution. We as citizens retain our right to travel and take action to help others. I hope there is push back and even jail time for these petty tyrants.
ReplyDeleteFunny, no one complained when a flotilla of private boats rescued people on 9/11. Bureaucratic bullshit; your tax dollars at work.
ReplyDeleteTypical local "authority".
ReplyDeleteThis is total Bullsh**, After Katrina, Rumsfield, who I am not a big fan of, told the DoD to send help and we will catch up on the paperwork. Saving lives is the FIRST priority in any emergency. This is what is wrong with too many who have power of the citizens, they rule like dictators.
ReplyDeleteI would've "called my boys." They would've been there to take a bit of wind out of the potential arresting person's sails.
ReplyDeleteThe woman officer also would've been attitude-adjusted.
It would have been a nice study in "Who has the power of arrest".
DeleteWhat a crock... Probably the State Governor is trying to control the narrative of this Katrina-like fiasco.
ReplyDeleteIf they were illegal aliens, they would have been flown in, given $5k EBT cards and flown them to another GOP district.
The "fire chief" aka Barney Fife with a Hose needs a fuxking super atomic wedgie and I'm only 11 hours away!
ReplyDeleteSadly this situation happens frequently during emergency operations where you have piss poor communications, EOPs managers who’ve only experienced this through the training “slide decks”, or “little Mussolini's” who are “in charge and you’ll do what I say”. My response to the “assistant hemorrhoid farmer” when threatened with arrest would’ve been “you touch me and I’ll defend myself”. Some Fire and Rescue “Hose Jackets” are sworn to a degree where they can place an individual in custody many are not.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a communication breakdown of monumental proportion. You have one agency fueling private aircraft for rescue ops and another cordoning off areas and letting victims hang out to dry. Having some experience with this type of operation, the rapid turn around in allowing private operators to fly sorties tells me the “handle-bared douchebag” got the message from high up to stand down. The town manager looks dumb for defending a poor, incorrect, and short-sighted action that most likely was douchebag’s snap decision. Command presence in these situations isn’t laying down the law necessarily it’s finding the way to address the concern rapidly and effectively.
Kudos to helicopter guy and his boy. It takes an awesome person to want to burden themselves with that kind of risk.
The correct decision from the “threatening ass clown” would’ve been to communicate back to command that they’ve just had a private aircraft bring a victim out of the impact area and to seek guidance on how to utilize this resource. Instead it appears he let his limited IQ or pride or both get in the way of the proper decision.
The fella left behind had to hike out. He could’ve fell or been incapacitated in a manner that would’ve made a very different ending to the story.
Pulled across a raging debris filled river or flown out in relative comfort, what’s the better decision?
It's sad that gov't attracts sociopathic control freaks
ReplyDelete100%.
DeleteWonder what the 1st Cavalry helicopters Vitnam DO NOT CROSS THIS LINE would have said to that moron---that's right see ya....
ReplyDeleteThat community should beat both of those fuckheads to death, in public, with pipes, rocks, and bare hands, and leave the bodies mounted on spikes as a warning to the next would-be assholes anywhere within the reach of the internet.
ReplyDeleteSecond best would be Trial By Ordeal, by sewing them into burlap sacks, tying rocks around their ankles, and dropping them alive and screaming into the lake.
If they're innocent, God will spare them.
If not, they have it coming.
Calling them shit-for-brains is actually an insult to the intelligence of a pile of shit.
^^^^ This. Until these assholes start getting some street justice, they'll only get more prolific and bolder.
DeleteNemo
This is the end result of zero skin in the game in real life. That "Cheif" should have been eating his teeth. How come the locals didn't take care of this problem? Thought that place was hard ass central?
ReplyDeleteF*ck your rules, you blithering sociopath. There should be a reckoning.
ReplyDelete"Wait, what? You want me, now, to fly missions? Sorry, Barney Fire with a hose line threatened me with arrest. No can do. Tell Barney hello for me, and I'm respekin' his authoritah!"
ReplyDeleteTar and feathers for the Town Manager. And ridden out of town on a rail, with a placard around her neck with a appropriate sentiment.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you have against a hanging? It sends the government a message.
DeleteThat's where they started at the beginning of the first revolution.
DeleteConsider it fair warning.

ReplyDelete"We just have to go through the right steps..."
Another drone from the Hive.
There's a difference between male sociopaths & female sociopaths. Sociopaths experience the emotion of joy with the manipulation & suffering of others. The female sociopaths has the added dynamic of intense hate that never forgets.
