that's the thing. it's all a meme/hollywood perspective to most people. this is very dangerous hedonistic in the moment perspective. living in the moment negates any ability for future oriented thinking. as an example i had a roommate that argued it doesn't matter if their wrong what matters is how they feel at the time.
I wouldn't worry too much. The germans can barely field a sqaudron of fighters or a platoon of soldeirs. It is likely tha their tanks won't go 100KM without breaking down. They spoent all their military money on Social Programs.
During the 20th Century, twice Americans came to Europe to help put the Germans back where they belonged, over 100,000 Americans are buried of Europe from doing that. We stationed troops in Germany for 75 years to keep the Germans out of their neighbors places and it's worked! I'll bet there are still people living who have a bad taste when they remember what the Germans have done TO THEM over the last 125 years. Judging by the last 100 years of history I would no more count the Germans out than I would the Japanese.
Perhaps it was a salute to the royals, given their German heritage, Saxe-Coburg-Gotha. Windsor being a change to appease the peasants during WW1 and much anti-German sentiment.
