  1. Sadly, the text might be a touch more relevant if not for 'The State' cracking down on free market entrepreneurships. (See also: busting lemonade stands, lawn mowing, yard sales, etc.)

  2. We had a kid who mowed our lawn every over week for six years. He grew up!

    We still get offers from other kids in the neighborhood when we neglect the grass, so this spirit isn't completely stamped out.

  3. I was around 10 or 11 (mid-70s) when I started hiring out my snow-shovelling services--far from a "young adult"--I was in the Army by the time I was 19.

  4. It turned into big business now. All those lawn care companies hiring Mexicans shift over to this in the winter.
