Hi Irish, Yup, Freedom Tower Base jump #1, "Case of BEER!!!!" Probably already been toasted and drank!! On a similar note, when the Twin Towers were under construction, one of the workers was a Skydiver and did the first Base jump from one of the towers. I forget the exact date, 'around '74 or 75?? It was Owen Quinn, "Base Twin Towers # 1 " Member of Long Island Sky Divers that jumped out at Spaderrows' Airport out on Long Island back in the day. Owen died some years ago, I believe from cancer. The Twin Towers are now gone and so is Owen, But the legend lives on. BSBD, III%, skybill-out BSBD, III%, skybill-out

Hi Irish, Yup, it's been a while!! 'Was a write up on Owen in "Spotter" magazine (A skydiving magazine from the North East US published in the mid 70's) back when. I have "the issue" and a bunch more stashed in my archives! One photo taken by one of his buddies shows Owen just as he's launching off the edge!! Quite a shot. All that was way before this country started going off the skids and Owen became kind of a celebrity over the event! 'Had the good fortune to meet him at the Long Island Skydivers DZ at Spaderow's airport back in early '76. (some readers of this weren't even born yet! hehe!!).......... ......The things we do and call it ..."FUN!!" BSBD, III%, skybill-out
