Two Words, David Gilmour...

  1. I saw "The Wall" on tour out in L.A.

All through the first act they were building a wall at the back of the stage, and the lights were up on other people as this song started.

Then, when he went into the guitar solo, a spot light lit him up, and he was on TOP of "the wall", wailing away on his axe.

    Just breathtakingly amazing!

  2. My wife calls "Comfortably Numb" "Grandpa's Song".

When her grandfather was failing, and all hope was slowly being extinguished, the song came on the radio. She embraced the song and it now reminds her of a time when she could only patiently wait for the inevitable.

  3. Well ya had me at David Gilmour but when I saw it was my all time favorite Floyd tune I whipped out my trusty headphones and turned them up to stun.

Even though this extended version is sublime and I thoroughly enjoyed it enough that I am going to listen to it a couple more times to enjoy the nuances, my all time favorite version of this song is the cut off The Delicate Sound of Thunder.

    That one was perfection.

I did get to see The Wall last year but I was so damn drunk I barely remember half of it.

    It was still awesome though.
