WASHINGTON — So that’s how you land an exclusive interview with President Obama.
Employees
of Amazon, which scored a coup by securing a rare one-on-one interview
with the president for its journalism outlet Tuesday, donated more than
$116,000 to Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign, according to data
compiled by the Center for Responsive Politics.
That’s more than
four times as much as the roughly $25,000 that the Internet giant’s
workers gave to Republican challenger Mitt Romney.
Obama and Amazon also have a business relationship.

it only makes sense these days to toady up to the people who are most likely going to be in power.
ReplyDeleteJust ask Gibson how it would have benefitted them.
I seem to recall Barry whining about how computerization is destroying the old-fashioned jobs, like bank teller and telephone switchboard operator, when you can instead use the drive-up ATM or dial direct. What exactly does he think Amazon is doing, besides running the local book, music, and nearly everything else stores out of business?!? The local stores have complained that they are nearly reduced to being Amazon's showroom, as folks come in to look at the merchandise, then go home and order it cheaper online!
