Death Valley Dreamlapse......

This was on Ace's sidebar. It's amazing the amount of stars that are out there with no light pollution. This is what our ancestors must have seen in the night sky before all the lighting at night that blocks the some of the billions of stars.

  1. Yeah man, stars as big as pie plates on the east slope of the Sierras.
When I'm up there at night I always have a crick in my neck from looking upwards all night.
    Gorgeous.

  2. Please do not use the phrase "light pollution" as it is the start of the slippery slope leading to a fervent and insane belief in AGW.

Lefties are good at framing the debate.

The left's war on electricity in my jurisdiction is already starting with one of our lefty city Councillors asking for streetlight shutdown on the basis of "light pollution". Plus new building regulations prohibiting outdoor lights such as porch lights, yard lights or garden lights.
