Driving songs are trickey, butyou can't beat the Allman Brothers for heavy duty interstate hauls in excess of 1200 miles, e.g. Houston Texas to LA, or to MAine (fuggit, they're both about 23 hours straight through, from personal experience, ymmv). Less than 2 hours to the beach? Gotta go with The Ventures and Dick Dale. Middle distances? Western Swing. Bob Wills, Asleep at the Wheel, and those cats.
