Gun Laws Don't Work.......

A man believed to be a former student opened fire in a school in Rio de Janeiro on Thursday, killing 12 people and wounding 22 others before taking his own life, authorities said. "STORY"

This is one telling sentence from "THIS" article:

Obviously, all these controls have lead for a huge black market.

Because of gun politics in Brazil, all firearms are required to be registered with the state; the minimum age for ownership is 25[1] and although it is legal to carry a gun outside a residence, extremely severe restrictions were made by the federal government since 2002 making it virtually impossible to obtain a carry permit.[2] To legally own a gun, the owner must pay a tax every three years to register the gun, currently at R$ 60,[3] and registration can be done via the Internet or in person with the Federal Police.[4] Until the end of the 2008, unregistered guns could be legalized for free.[5] The total number of firearms in Brazil is thought to be around 17 million[2] with 9 million of those being unregistered.[1]

"HAPPY NEW BEERS EVE" to my readers!

One of my facebook friends put a post on this morning that was about something I had never heard of.
It seems that Today is celebrated as "NEW BEERS EVE" which marked the end of prohibition.
On the evening of April 6th people lined up to legally purchase beer after 13 years of it being illegal!

I've been around for almost half a century, I've had my share of the "devil's brew" and have never heard of this. Therefore , only once, will I thank Al Gore for inventing the internets. Now I can learn information like this and also download pictures of silly cats and boobies!!

1.                  The first lady does not want us to eat this type of food.
2.                  The President is touting this as great for the economy.
3.                  5 years ago when Bush was president, “burger flipping” jobs weren’t real jobs to liberals.
4.                  6 months ago McDonald’s announces they are going to lay off 35,000 people because of healtchacre costs (after Obamacare).
5.                  McDonald’s retracts that statement and gets a “waiver”
6.                  Now this?????/
Where is the  media real journalists to call them out on this?????  So friggin aggravating.

Earworm .....

This song brings back tons of memories. I don't care how often its played it always gets the volume turned up and the arms and hands wanting to play air guitar :)

Stolen Post......thanks Borepatch!

I wasn't born for diggin deep holes
I'm not made for pavin long roads
I aint cut out to climb high line poles
But I'm pretty good at drinkin beer

I'm not the type to work in a bank
I'm no good at slappin on paint
Don't have a knack for makin motors crank, no
But I'm pretty good at drinkin beer

So hand me one more
That's what I'm here for
I'm built for having a ball
I love the nightlife
I love my budlight
I like 'em cold and tall

I aint much for mowin thick grass
I'm too slow for workin' too fast
I don't do windows so honey don't ask
But I'm pretty good at drinkin' beer

A go getter maybe I'm not
I'm not known for doin' a lot
But I do my best work when the weather's hot
I'm pretty good at drinkin' beer

So hand me one more
That's what I'm here for
I'm built for having a ball
I love the nightlife
I love my budlight
I like 'em cold and tall

I wasn't born for diggin deep holes
I'm not made for pavin long roads
I aint cut out to climb high line poles
But I'm pretty good at drinkin beer
I'm pretty good at drinkin beer

Ixnay on the ompetitioncay.........

Federal prosecutors on Monday tried to take a hoard of silver "Liberty Dollars" worth about $7 million that authorities say was invented by an Indiana man to compete with U.S. currency.Bernard von NotHaus, 67, was convicted last month in federal court in Statesville on conspiracy and counterfeiting charges for making and selling the currency, which he promoted as inflation-proof competition for the U.S. dollar.

Another Broken Promise...The Buzz out of Washington this morning is that the Obama administration has signaled it will end efforts to try 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed in a civilian trial and instead will use the Gitmo military tribunal system. EXPECT A RUN ON LIB_LIDS!

ZOMG !!11!!! teh nuclearz meltdownzzzz

This was the view on my walk this morning. It was early and I was half asleep, I thought that the Japanese reactor had finally melted down. Then my brain reminded me that I was facing east, that Japan is west, and that it was the sunrise..... a beautiful fusion reaction from 93 million miles away, diffused by the atmosphere into brilliant reds, purples, and oranges......

The cell phone does not do the actual beauty any where near the justice it deserves:
