Scrolling the interwebz this morning I happened across this gif:
at over four thousand square miles, and with a variation in
surface elevation of less than a metre, bolivia’s salar de uyuni, when
covered in a few centimetres of water, is the world’s largest mirror.
So, I did some searching for salar de uyani.
Spreading out over 11,000-sq.-km, Salar de
Uyuni is the largest salt flat in the world. An endless sheet of
hexagonal tiles (created by the crystalline nature of the salt), dotted
with pyramids of salt, Bolivia’s salt flats are a dazzling display of
nature’s magic.
Despite the desert dryness, freezing night temperatures, and fierce
desert sun, this landscape is not devoid of life. Pink flamingos,
ancient cacti, and rare hummingbirds all live in the Salar de Uyuni.
During the wet season, which is roughly from November to April, the
salt desert is transformed into an enormous salt lake, albeit one that
is only six to twenty inches deep, traversable by both boat and truck.
During this time, the shallow salt lake perfectly mirrors the sky,
creating bizarre illusions of infinity.
HUNTINGTON, WV (WOWK)– Marshall University has suspended one of its faculty members after a video clip in which she says she wished Trump supporters would catch the COVID-19 virus and die before the election went viral on social media.
Professor Jennifer Mosher, of the school’s Biology department, was teaching a virtual class session Wednesday when she commented on supporters of President Donald Trump at an indoor political rally not wearing masks.
Friday Marshall University released the following statement:
“Marshall University this morning announced it is aware of an overtly political statement made by a faculty member in a recent virtual classroom session and widely circulated on social media. The University does not support or condone the use of any of its educational platforms to elittle people or wish harm on those who hold differeing political views. The professor was removed from the classroom yesterday and is on administrative leave, pending an investigation. there will be no further comment on this personnel matter at this time.”
Damn, that looks so good. I bet it tasted even better.
Question, what do you/ did you do to get through the work day when day after day the internal frustration of dealing with constant bullshit from all sides starts/started to wear on you? Granted, I work myself up a positive attitude when I walk in the door but behind my mask I'm saying "fuck you" while my eyes just smile. It's amazing the drama, immaturity, idiocracy and total lack of caring on display. March to the overlords beat. Decisions with no common sense. Second guessed on decisions made. etc. I do understand some of the overall frustration across the board but it wears on ya. I got big shoulders and a strong constitution so I'll make it till I decide not to. What would get "you" through?
and, no, randomly urinating in the coffee pot is out of the question :)
