Feel Good Story for the Weekend...

It's a scene right out of a Disney movie, mother goose has lost her lifelong mate and is now left alone to create and tend to her nest in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Buffalo, NY.  She spends the day sheltering her eggs from the cool spring air inside an empty urn she has chosen as home.
The loss of her male partner and guardian now makes her vulnerable to any would-be predators that choose to approach the nest.  But, in an unlikely twist of fate, an adult deer has befriended the mother goose, taking over the role of protector.

"We are Born to Die"- Walter Breuning

RIP to the world's oldest man. 114 years on this planet.
Born in 1896

Here's the world's oldest man's secret to a long life:
- Embrace change, even when the change slaps you in the face. ("Every change is good.")
- Eat two meals a day ("That's all you need.")
- Work as long as you can ("That money's going to come in handy.")
- Help others ("The more you do for others, the better shape you're in.")
Then there's the hardest part. It's a lesson Breuning said he learned from his grandfather: Accept death.
"We're going to die. Some people are scared of dying. Never be afraid to die. Because you're born to die," he said.

Now those are some simple good ideas to live by.

Re-election Posters......... (never gonna happen)

The idea to do re-election posters was a stroke of genius by my "Blogfather".
I was surfing over at "The Daley Gator" and borrowed a line from gatordoug that
I felt worked well given the direction we are headed:

Set the wayback Machine to 1977......

Well Worth the 15 minutes to read this......

Think about a country with a 15 trillion dollar debt whose leaders and media insist that everything is going swimmingly. A government which goes into debt for grandiose projects every year-- and none of them ever amount to anything. A new year and a new trillion dollar budget, packed full of projects that are dead ends. Grand ideas that make the politicians feel good about themselves, but can never work. We beat the Soviet Union-- but these days we look a lot like it. A repressive bureaucracy, an out of touch political class, mounting debt, failing industries and an angry populace caught between government benefits and enforced poverty.

We're losing our competence, the same way that the Russians lost theirs. The same way that people living under every ideological tyranny does.

HOLY CRAP...fill your pants moment.....

Can you imagine sitting in that little jet and getting tossed around like that???

The pilots on that little commuter plane must have experienced some serious
g-force, being at the far end of the pivot point of the rear wheels.

That plane looked like a little toy............
