Yesterday we saw that GUFFAW IN AZ's Blog was taken down in the afternoon. It seems
that an ad on his page was generating spam. I did a quick search to see what ways there are
to safe a copy of the entire blog. I guess the backup function on the template page doesn't save
everything. What do you guys/ gals do to save your entire Blog??
Thanks in advance :)
PISSED
he's up now btw. I have wordpress blog already set up but trying to copy my blogger blog to it exery post would get old in about 2 seconds.
ReplyDeleteBasically buy some server space and export. Haven't done it but I know that we get the option. I have the server space and webdesign as a hobby so have considered taking us private and exporting us and getting us going on my server to avoid anything like that. We don't do ads but content isn't always friendly lol. I even have a blog software but just haven't moved to implement any of it.
ReplyDeleteWill Mozy work?
ReplyDeleteMine's not worth the trouble :-D
ReplyDeleteNot sure, but I often use HTTrack to copy entire websites with multiple levels. Might be worth a try. Free open-source program.
ReplyDeleteThanks for noticing! - guffaw

ReplyDeleteI checked it out and it's still downloading. Thanks.
Brock.. I saw your post. Please let us know how you make out :)
ReplyDelete@ Guffaw ..no problem :) Everyone got a bit concerned when your blog disappeared. Glad it was something stupid.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to give credit which I just did. I started it last night when I went to bed about one and it downloaded about 84% before something stopped it. I started it again where it left off about 5 hours ago and it's now at 96% with over 8,000 files.
ReplyDelete@ Lila.. Sounds like that is the safest. What blog software do you have?
ReplyDeleteYou can also put them on discs which I've done for the important family stuff on NamSouth which is also backed up by Blue Host.
ReplyDeleteMine's done after 36 hours.
ReplyDeleteWOW Brock.. does it tell you how much info you have??
ReplyDeleteIt had all sorts on info as it ran, but I don't know where to find it now. This blog is about 1.5 years old, so one year equals 24 hours!?:)
ReplyDeleteI will have to try it and see what I have. Thanks for being the guinea pig :)
ReplyDeleteThe bill will be in the mail........:)I did it on a laptop instead of my desktop for whatever reason, though it doesn't appear to slow it down.
