** I was in Dearborn, MI, in 2008 with my (secular) Muslim wife.  She saw the signs in Arabic, the women in veils and
even burkhas, and said "I am afraid!"  She was HORRIFIED.  I can't imagine what it's like now.  Several years ago she
and I were walking around the pond at the apartment complex where we lived.  There was a couple with a small boy; the
woman was in the full niqab.  She grabbed my arm and said "They're HERE?  I am afraid!"  Working retail, she came home
and confessed to me that she was always nervous when women in Islamic dress came into her store... "What are they
hiding under those robes?"  This is a woman who grew up in a majority-Muslim country.  She is SCARED OF THEM.  Perhaps
people should listen.
