"We live in a different kind of world now": Bomb found underwater below dam in Mobile Alabama's only water supply
I searched for additional information, but there is not a lot forthcoming at this time. At this point there only seems to be only conjecture as to who planted the device, what the intended purpose was, what type of device this was, etc. Local officials have involved a myriad of alphabet agencies and have pulled out all of their shiny resources, but are being tight lipped for now, releasing only basic information and not much of that. Maybe it was kids trying to stun some fish or perhaps it was some jihadist attempting to disrupt the fresh water supply to one of Alabama's largest cities and the nation's second largest port, but . As a note, I saw the detonation of this "bomb" by authorities and it did not seem powerful enough to do any significant damage.
Seems to me that maybe this was just a "try it and find out" type of event. Sometimes the evil ones will attempt a dry run; to find out what is really needed to accomplish the true objective.
ReplyDeleteSo many questions and so few answers. You're right, Jeffery, it does not appear to have been big enough to cause much damage, even with the added force from the weight of the water around it. Jihadist, prank or FF???
ReplyDeleteI read on another site that it was a grenade type device. Probably some redneck fishing.
ReplyDeleteThere have been alleged photographs going around of the bomb and it looks smaller than a hand grenade. It's not in the size bracket that makes sense, at least to me, to call it a bomb. Nobody would want to hold it when it goes off, but it's not something that could take out the dam.
ReplyDeleteREAL....or false flag to justify more government tyranny and restrictions? Equally likely...sadly...
