  3. The Buccaneers was one of my favorite shows when I was a kid. You really wanted to go off and be a pirate. Not too many wenches, but lots of buckled swash.

  6. Robert Shaw was a playwrite as well and wrote several parts of the movie Jaws, the USS Indianapolis scene for one. No doubt he used his previous acting skills of old sailor songs to build up the Quint character.
