Very plausible. The fact that he's openly running as a third party candidate and the Bidenistas have refused to give him secret service protection multiple times means either he thinks the CIA has been reformed or he has balls the size of water towers. Or he just doesn't care. I doubt that he thinks the CIA has been reformed. He's getting out the stories of his uncle and father that most of us have never heard.
His problem is his 'other' uncle that gave us the new and improved 60's immigration bill. And helped aid and abet the 60's and latter, gun control bills.
