I am in favor of giving Israel military support i.e. weapons and intel. But down the road the U.S. politicians will want to rebuild Gaza at the cost of billions, most of which will be stolen and I'm not in favor of that. Same for Ukraine, let them rebuild themselves. No U.S. dollars to rebuild or prop up their government and industry.
Every country favors its own survival. Israel, like the US, knows this better than anyone. That does not make them less a friend. If our own government was not so mercurial, flipping back and forth from being friend to enemy, we could be a dependable friend to them. Right now, psuedo-POTUS Biden would gladly sell tehm out if he thought the political price would not be so high.
It is no coincidence that the only country outside of the US with a 9/11 Memorial which includes the name of every victim, is Israel. Israel is an American ally par excellence. What is being done to them is what the Muslim hordes will be doing to us next, as soon as they polish off Europe. We ought to back (as best we can afford without hampering our own defenses) outposts of civilization that are under siege by the barbarians.
Please provide an example where Israel has provided military, economic, or any other type of assistance to the United States during any number of events we (the USA) have been involved in.

It was Israeli pilots that pioneered radar detectors and rearview mirrors in combat aircraft; and shared that with US pilots. Israel shares intelligence with US intel. Israel provides diplomatic support for most US efforts in the Middle East. Israeli industry provides significant intellectual property that the US uses.
It is absurd to claim Israel should provide economic assistance to the US, given the relative sizes of their GDP to ours. That's like saying your 4 year-old niece should pay your gambling debts for you.

The 1946 "Principles of Radar MIT Radar School Staff" (which is on the desk in front of me) says otherwise. Radar was primarily invented in England and incorporated in their Chain Home installation. The British invented the magnetron early in the war and brought it to the states (MIT) for further refinement and mass manufacturing. It seems that too many accomplishments that "melanin deficient" people are being usurped by those who want to rewrie history.
People in favor of the us gov't throwing money around willy nilly should be required to pay for that money and leave the rest of us out of the equation.
