Trapp Rock

 

I am standing underneath a large natural bridge called Trapp Rock not too far from where I live. It is off the beaten path and on private property (the landowner is a friend). To give an indication of the size of this thing, I am standing in the light spot just left of center on the far end. A friend of mine who was heavy into native American lore showed me this place several years ago. It has a lot of petroglyphs carved into the sandstone ( along with some more modern graffiti ). I came across the mention of this place in a book about Alabama Indians a few years ago, but lost the book and have not ever found anything online in regards to it. There is a book titled Sun Circles & Human Hands by Funderburk and Foreman (two Alabamians) that has some art that resembles some of these symbols and the book also mentions some petroglyphs found in a shelter about five miles from here. It is a very cool place and thought it worth sharing. 

I Find This Interesting....

 

Every month or so I will grab meat that suits my fancy or that is on sale or marked down. 

The other day I did some food shopping and picked up some ground beef.

I rotate my stock from the freezer as I add to my stockpile.

What was interesting is the price-per-lb hasn't changed in just over a year.

Check out the frozen pack date and price compared to the one I just bought.

I'll have to compare the price of chicken from a year ago and will report back at some point.

 The rain was pouring down outside O'Connor's Irish Pub near Dublin.  There standing in front of a big puddle outside the pub was an old Irishman, drenched, holding a stick, with a piece of string dangling in the water.  A passerby stopped and asked him, "What are you doing?” “Fishing, replied the old man.” Feeling sorry for the old man, the gent says, “Come in out of the rain and have a drink with me.”  In the warm ambiance of the pub, as they sip their whiskies, the gentleman, being a bit of a superior smart ass, cannot resist asking, "So how many have you caught today?”
