Do you carry a gun every day?
If so, do you;
open carry?
carry concealed?
what do you carry?
If I have my britches on, I have this North American .22 WMR in my right front pocket. This is "at a minimum".
I know some whose philosophy is carry one gun only. Become proficient with it and condition yourself accordingly. I, on the the other hand despise a "safe queen(s)". So, I carry a myriad of guns from time to time that I not only love to shoot, but ones which also have a purpose. On any given day I have with me in my truck a Glock 19 for "whatever", a Colt Match Barrel AR-15 for Coyotes and "mass shooters", a New England Arms 20 ga. single barrel shotgun for "you never can tell', and most of the time a Ruger 10/22 just for plinking and such. Some days I alternate the Glock 19 with a Browning HP, Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 mag., Colt 1911 .45, etc. and the AR for a Model 94 .30-.30. Of course, I live in a super rural area that is ultra "gun friendly". Many times I hear people say, "I usually have got ONE in the car with me". However, I will never forget what an older man once told me, "I'd rather have a .22 LR in my pants than have an UZI in my truck. I'd rather have a gun and not need it than not have a gun and need one". LOL! I look forward to hearing from yall.
XDS45. Not allowed to carry at work. State office on a State campus.
ReplyDeleteGun free zone. They don't know.
Campus concealed carry is legal in our state. Gubner Kate Brown declared all State property to be a gun free zone. What an idiot.
Somebody asked about my USCCA sticker. I told them. They asked, do you? I told them I can't tell them. They went away.
Can’t carry at work, Federal law. I have an older S&W 6904 that lives in my glove box. When I’m not going to work, either a Ruger LCR in 38 with Golden Saber or a Para Warthog, also running Golden Saber. Since I have kids, a fanny pack is the easiest way to carry. Nobody gives a shit about a dad wearing crocks and a fanny pack pushing a stroller.
ReplyDeleteThe whole "have and not need,..." is so exactly right it's scary. The one time you do is worth all the times you didn't.
ReplyDeleteI, like all CCW holders around here, carry EVERYWHERE unless I see metal detectors. I've only been "wanded" or had to walk through a detector twice in the last ten years. Once while boarding a cruiseship and back in December while down in New Orleans at the Sugar Bowl. In Alabama there are very few businesses that have "NO FIREARMS signs. If for some reason your gun was "detected" the most that could happen is for the proprietor to ask you to leave.
ReplyDeleteMost of the time I conceal carry my Walther PPK .380 ACP. Sometimes when my clothes won't hide it well enough it's the KelTec P-32 .32 ACP in my pants pocket. If I'm out on the stream or in the woods I'll either open carry my EAA Witness 10mm, Ruger Blackhawk .44 mag, or Ruger Single Six in .22 LR or .22 WMR. Depends on what I'm doing, where I'm going or what strikes my fancy that day. Even when I have one of the long guns with me in the woods I always have something else on the hip..........

The bottom line is that all calibers can deter an attacker. The bigger calibers kill him outright (not desirable), whereas the smaller calibers cause extremely painful wounds, even the .22 lr.
We have open carry in Ohio, and I have seen people with pistols in a hip holster. However, even where I am is fairly well built-up and suburban, and people and cops freak when they see guns.
Pretty much, if you see me, I am carrying, unless I have to go to a courthouse or Post Office or other Gun Free Zone where it could land me jail time.
ReplyDeleteCarry all the time---38 Tauras ---Horandy 38 SPCL. Depending what I wear--In pocket, Holster in back, or ankle holster which is last resort.
ReplyDeleteI carry daily, Taurus PT92.
ReplyDeleteGlock 42- 380 and carry either way, depending on where I am going.
ReplyDeleteI carry a S&W .380 or a .45 Glock mod 30. If I am going formal, my Kimber stainless 1911 in a shoulder holster.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, I am a felon. I cannot even possess ammunition, much less a firearm...the mistakes of youth. I envy you folks that buy guns, go to the range, order firearms online, carry guns with you...
ReplyDeleteeveryday, all day
ReplyDeleteWhenever I leave my own property, I carry on my person, usually a Colt Lightweight Commander in 45. I carry a total of two 8-round mags + one in the chamber, cocked & locked. It's in a DeSantis soft tuck IWB. I cover with a snap front western shirt or sport coat. When I go for a run, I carry openly (I live in the rural South) a Glock 43 with 7 rds in the gun, also in a IWB holster. If I need deep concealment, such as at the gym, I carry a LCP II in a home made pocket holster that also holds a spare mag.
ReplyDeleteI try to carry everywhere. At a hospital or a courthouse, I tend to leave the gun in the car, in the glove box or the center console. Then put it on when I return. I carry the Taurus Millenium G2. I have had great luck with this pistol, no misses of any kind, around 1000 rounds through it. I have a 1911 that I am trying to switch to, but I still have a little work to do with it. I need to change out the mag release button, the original is too short for my stubby thumb to reach it. And I always carry a spare magazine, not as extra bullets, but in case of magazine failure. I have anywhere from 3-4 knives on me right now, plus a leatherman multi tool, and a decent flashlight in my pocket. It's getting to the point where I need to get a damn bat belt. But I can carry all this stuff and not feel bogged down. I carry the gun in an OWB leather pancake. I also have a kydex IWB, for it, and the same setup for the 1911, which is a commander, plus I have a shoulder holster for that one, I got in Florida in a thrift shop. It is a Desantis, with a list price of 165, and I got it used, but in great condition for 15$. I used to feel safe without a gun, but now, I don't even walk my dog around the block without taking my gun. Oh, I forgot, if I can't take my gun, but I can take pepper spray, I do have that, as well.
ReplyDeleteThe only time I carry is when I'm alone or with somebody. G19, 2 spare mags. When you're out of ammo you're out of the gun fight.
ReplyDeleteBad_Brad
Always carry when I leave the house. Work is a gun free zone but I carry anyway in a pocket. Most times it is Glock 43 or Kahr PM9 or if at work a Ruger LCP. Always carry at least 1 spare mag as well, and a Benchmade folder.
ReplyDeleteA Ruger 9mm lcpPro. Because you just never know
ReplyDeleteGiven were I live carry is not an option. Of course given the rise in home invasions by whiny induans looking for the next big score in my area. Well I'd never shoot a home invador because Turdeau says thats illegal... but I do own an excavator and 40 acres.
ReplyDeleteExile1981
Carry concealed when off work. Forbidden by the man at work, termination offense. 1911 45ACP commander size.
ReplyDeleteDepending on how I'm dressed, it's a Kimber Gold Match or a CZ75. In the truck center console is a S&W 686 with two speed strips.
ReplyDeletePut it on when I get dressed, on the nightstand when I go to bed. For the last twenty+ years.
I always carry, concealed, at home and at work (no weapons allowed....snerk), even to hospitals, schools, and the post office. The only place I don't carry is through magnetic gates. I carry in a Maxpedition shoulder bag, along with checkbooks, plastic, and reading material. I look SO totally innocent, an old man and his man purse. My carry pistol is a SW40 (with NO safeties), and two magazines.
ReplyDeleteDeplorable B Woodman
BTW, HI, Bad_Brad.
Forgot one place I also carry, in defiance of corporate policy......the movie theater.
DeleteDeplorable B Woodman
Mr. B, fuck corporate policy all they can do is ask you to leave.
DeleteGlock 19 usually, Ruger LCR in .38 when pocket carry is the only option.
ReplyDeleteAlways a KelTec P32 in the pocket and a 12 gauge in the truck.
ReplyDeleteAlways a KelTec P32 in the pocket and a 12 gauge in the truck.
ReplyDeleteI often carry my G19 w/RM06 RDS. Otherwise, I slip into my AIWB a G43 with ETS 9-round magazine. However, I may change to my CZ P-01 in AIWB for a little "diversity".
ReplyDeleteCarry concealed away from work. Pentagon is a no gun zone. When I carry, it's a Baretta 9000s, 9mm. 147gr jhp.
ReplyDeleteif you EDC do you also IFAK? You damn well better. Get this and keep it on you, just like your gun. Rather have it and never need it than need it and not have it. https://www.chinookmed.com/item/01153/chinook-medical-gear-minifak-kit-lemk-minifak/1.html?child=01153BKLE&%2Fitem%2F01153bkle%2Fchinook-medical-gear-minifak-kit-black-w%2Fblack-pull-tab%2F1_html=&__cfduid=d9769ae79114d6c51d5fb17845f4019cf1520993266&r=QXvcPuxvoUYBnV1p7Uo6JYlQZIWOPnkL&cart_marker=4de4c5d4d45ad0d623d149cf78bd6c6fe26ddeae&_ga=GA1.2.671368530.1520993271&__mmapiwsid=5BF33F37-12FE-4A36-A5A2-90D2B33434C4%3A86297b346c6e4a8bd5893177d7a7a69ff12f70b3&ds=W6xzZyoE74tqrUAmf0gunkH5Uba¤cy=USD&_gid=GA1.2.2001431207.1521309091&__atssc=google%3B2&tc=3t.2x&lv=02175%2C02176%2C99026PA%2C02211%2C02210%2C600315%2C01571%2C01239&__atuvc=14%7C11&__atuvs=5aad55a4e869a3b2007&_gat=1&p=1

ReplyDeletealso, a good 4" blade.
.357 Mag...don't ask don't tell
ReplyDeleteGlock 27, spare mag, 2 knives, +2 on the blow out kit (ankle carry)
ReplyDeleteYes, everyday. Have become mostly dependent on a SIG P320 sub-compact. Have and have carried a SHIELD in 9 and 45. Can't help it, I like them both. Wife carries a Ruger 380 and occasionally a Ruger 9.
