That time of year here in South Carolina as well. "Partly cloudy, chance of rain" is the only sure forecast. NO major organized storms, just pop-up cells that may give a rumple and drop just enough rain to ruin any outdoor plans. A spring rain with no sign of Ingrid Bergman or Anthony Quinn walking in it!
Even in Seattle (average precip 37ish inches) we'd seldom get that kind of good drowner. I do recall those from living in the Baltimore/D.C. area, though. Here in the Valley we gat almost 9 inches of precip a year, and eeevery once in a while a few minutes like that. Well, gotta go work outside in the heat and sun, looking at the Horse Heaven Hills which are yellow with dry scrub and quite lovely at sunset. Ta!
I have always heard that about Idaho.
ReplyDeleteMan what a view! That's a nice little slice of Heaven you got there.

ReplyDeleteHere in AZ during monsoon season, you don't have to wait. Just go across the street.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!

That's everyday on The Gulf of America, it changes by the street. Heck yesterday it was raining in the front yard & sunny in the back.
ReplyDeleteHappens here in the mountains of WNC as well. Convective activity can produce brief storms like that. Frontal storms are a different matter.
