I don't know what your budget is, but you can rent a VPS and set up your own server *relatively* cheaply. I rent a VPS from Hostinger for about 7 bucks a month and run my own website (www.billoblog.com) and mail server. There's a learning curve to doing that, but you end up with complete control. Plus, since you run your own mail server, there's no issue with your provider scanning your email.
You can add various degrees of having them manage stuff, e.g. add admin tools like cpanel or they will just host email and/or websites for you.
It's not free, but -- depending on how much handholding you want -- it's relatively cheap..
Something like this always takes an amount of finagling.
