We rented one of those little Cadi SUVs our last time in Maui. Strangest shifter you've ever seen. You bump it forward to get into reverse, you bump it backwards to get into drive and I can't even remember how to get the damn thing in park. I drove it for ten days and had no idea where neutral was. So there is a small possibility these peeps figured it might be easier just buying can. All things considered I thought it was pretty dangerous.
'Reminds me of a Pollak joke. Three Pollaks are in a car when it runs out of gas. Two of them get out to push the car. The third is behind the wheel. after about a half hour they reach a gas station, where the driver says "Keep pushing. This isn't my brand!"
Good odds every one of these people votes democrat - assuming they can figure out how to do it.
