As We Move Forward, What Does The Future Hold?

A good read during your morning covfefe:

Embracing Realism with an Attitude of Pessimism and a Foreboding Sense of Fatalism

by Doug “Uncola” Lynn:

.

We perceive our civic challenge as some vast, insoluble Rubik’s Cube. Behind each problem lies another problem that must be solved first, and behind that lies yet another, and another, ad infinitum. To fix crime we have to fix the family, but before we do that we have to fix welfare, and that means fixing our budget, and that means fixing our civic spirit, but we can’t do that without fixing moral standards, and that means fixing schools and churches, and that means fixing the inner cities, and that’s impossible unless we fix crime. There’s no fulcrum on which to rest a policy lever. People of all ages sense that something huge will have to sweep across America before the gloom can be lifted – but that’s an awareness we suppress. As a nation, we’re in deep denial.

– Straus and Howe (1997):  “The Fourth Turning”, FIRST EDITION page 2

.

The books “Generations” (1992) and “The Fourth Turning“ (1997) by historians William Strauss and Neil Howe identified and categorized recorded cycles of history across multiple cultures and eras.  Both books analyzed the timelines of historical events and correlated them to specific life cycles identified as generational “types”.   Strauss and Howe addressed the concept of time in the context of both circular and linear perspectives.  In so doing, they described the “saeculum” as a “long human life” measuring approximately 80 to 90 years and comprised of four turnings, each lasting around 20 to 22 years.

Just as there are four seasons consisting of spring, summer, fall and winter, there are also four phases of a human life experienced in childhood, young adulthood, middle age and elderhood.

Each generation experiences the historical turnings according to their life stage; and the Seasons (i.e. order of societal “turnings”) are identified by each generation as they reach middle-age.  Amazingly, history shows a consistent pattern in how the generations similarly cause and affect historical events.

  1. I read this elsewhere a few days ago. Since then, as if to drive the point home of extraordinary events happening near the middle and ends of each turning, there is a story, obviously leaked to try to "light that candle" about a plot by the U.S. military to openly stage a coup should Trump be elected this year. Then as if to further fan the smoldering fire, news of Germany's war preparations, because Russia (sound familiar), makes the news.

Hey, if your gonna have more wars than we already have, let's go all in and burn down every continent.

The globalists are meeting in Davos as I write this to determine the fate of mankind with their disease X and other shenanigans and they're NOT having bugs for dinner. The only disease those guys should need to worry about is radiation poisoning. Davos, in a nice sheltered valley and with the self appointed Masters of the Universe" all gathered in one place, should be a prime candidate for a neutron bomb.

One small bomb, one giant F.U. to the globalists.

    1. ...and then to add more fuel to the fire over Disease X, while the Masters of the Universe are in Davos debating our fate this pops up out of the blue:

  2. I jumped to his site for more reading. Wow, that is a little too deep for a pre-workday read.

  3. You can't fix the inner cities (and reduce crime) until you change the dominant culture of the denizens of the inner cities.

  4. Depressing but most of history is depressing.

I've always wondered why things like lack of competence is so seldom brought up.

Nero fiddling while Rome burned is mostly fiction but some truth. Caligula and his craziness.

    But then there was:

SNIP The fall of Rome was a gradual process that took place over several centuries and was caused by a combination of internal and external factors 1. There is no single Roman emperor who can be credited with reversing the fall of Rome. However, some emperors such as Diocletian are known for their efforts to restore order to the empire and increase its strength.

Meanwhile looking at the local situation, protect your trusted family members and trusted friends.

  5. I must disagree with the idea that there are too many things to fix before anything changes.
The answer to all of this is , and has always been God. When we return to God and his word , faith will flourish.
And a man without God is a man without faith. And faith makes all things possible. That is what they fear most.

  6. This is a multifaceted approach needed. Several things can and must take place at the same time. Closing of Government agencies (4 or 5 worthless ones) the ability to fire any incompetent government worker on spot (written into law) Total Tax revamp ( I am in favor of the fair tax idea) to include realistic cuts to everything ( pain will be a part of this for some in need). Community reliance on those in need (self sacrifice will be apart of this to help local communities to thrive and become self reliant away from Federal help) and deport all people who have come illegally. There will be discomfort and wailing and gnashing of teeth but in the end strength will be returned to states and communities. Once this snowball has started it will be spectacular as to how it will grow into so many other totally useless things we can eliminate (term limits, international funding of other countries, Federal give away programs to name a few).

    1. Nice pipe dreams. You forget that in order to enact any of them, members of Congress have to vote to do those things, and that will never happen.

    2. There is no silver bullet here. Must start somewhere and let it grow in depth and width. One thing is for sure though, is that politicians are good at reading the wind. Once the ship starts heading in the right direction and gaining steam then most will get on board.

  8. Depressions create the change needed to move forward. Debt is destroyed through bankruptcy. Welfare destroyed through budget crashes. Faith in God restored as that is all most have. Are you prepared?

    1. There's no destroying the National Debt except by 1. Defaulting 2. Declaring the debt unpayable (which it is) 3. Telling all foreign creditors to pound sand 4. Doing away with the Federal Reserve and hanging all of its past and current living members, publicly. 5. put a Balanced Budget Amendment into the Constitution and hanging any President or member of CONgress who puts forward a plan or Bill that violates that Amendment.

      This crazyiness has to stop.

The only way it stops is with violence because that's what makes everyone pay attention. Everything else is pissin' into the wind.

    1. You're on the money, and he's historically illiterate. The book also doesn't offer up any solutions as it purports to. I bought the book, read it and promptly returned it for a full refund on Amazon with the reason "item not as described".

  12. We are way past "fixing" the problems. Dealing with all the problems will require burning it all down and starting over....most importantly AFTER exterminating all the nasty evil people responsible for implementing the agenda which brought us to this point.

  13. As an outsider looking in to the US a recurring question is, "Would the US military (not the cops and feds) obey an order to screw over Americans?" I keep hoping such an order would be a tipping point that would see the tyrants come unstuck. Some one has to fire the first shot but that doesn't mean that some one wins.
