Very glad to see the recovery and therapeutic discussion. Very disturbing event; embrittlement around welds is a phenomenon but how much and to what degree it is compensated is an engineering equation. I remain a bit confused about the failure of the booster, the escape of gasses around the sleeve, and the mass of the inert warhead. The booster exploded rather than sequentially igniting? C4 in the mid-stage of the booster? Ehhhh...something doesn't add and subtract to balance the equation.
    Best to all involved.

    1. Yeah, the How the hell did that happen? thing was ringing..
I had to stop when he was writhing on the ground. That is Agony,
Somehow it doesn't bother me when it's a fly making circles on the counter after I missed him by Thaat much..

    2. Yes, either the rocket charge started on the wrong end and pushed the propellant stick to the rear - clogging thed exhaust - or the whole shebang (pun intended) decided to cork off almost all at once. Waaaaaay too much "chamber pressure". Add that to the welded "weakness" (inherent) and it was time to fail bigly. RPG's are NOT overengineered...

  5. There is a good 10 second video buried somewhere in that 27 minutes of bullshit.

Then he needs to go to the church of his choice and offer daily prayers of thanks to God for his survival.

  7. Couple thoughts. That doesn't look like a normal rocket. Some kinda homebrewed ordinance, perhaps? Also, The mannequin head seems awful close to that tail end. Did it force the back blast back into the weapon or impede it in a way so as to cause a catastrophic failure? I've never seen an RPG up close much less fired one but that video certainly cured me of any desire t ever give it a try.

  9. There are RPG rounds and there are RPG rounds. The "normal" ones, IIRC, are not so quite "energetic". These guys were trying to overemphasize the backblast problem and put the "hot" round downrange, from what I could take from the explanation. Not a "normal" round, methinks.
Anyway, there's no way that mannequin caused any blowback to the RPG tube's exhaust. Look at the slo-mo carefully - a lot of Muj have died because they lost their minds when they didn't know/care/forgot about that one tiny little detail... not that I mind a bit!

  10. Why would you live fire something that has had the demil cut welded???? Would you fire a 60/81/120 mortar or a 105/155 howitzer with demil cuts and then welded up?? Those tubes have a finite lifespan.
