For as big of an hard ass Ivan Moody, of 5FDP, is supposed to be; I've seen several instances where he has stopped a show to help fans in trouble. Metal bands are filled with the best people.
I first became aware of this band when I saw their incredible rendition of Sounds of Silence. It instantly became my favorite version, Simon and Garfunkel notwithstanding. Now after seeing this example of kindness and love shown to a young, scared little girl, at one of their concerts, plus the words of acceptance of anyone with no regard for anything that the world would use to divide us, my opinion of them as people has also risen. Are they perfect examples for everyone, and what we should desire our children to grow up to be? I have no idea, I don't know them. But as far as how to act in a public setting, well done. Will I spend my money to go see them when they come to Michigan later this year? No, I am a cheap skate, and not into a lot of metal music. lol. Thanks Irish, for finding this, and posting it. It made me smile, while drying my eyes a bit at the same time.
Kudos for the Lead Singer recognizing the little girl was in distress and acting. On another note, and I hate to be a nooj, who brings a child that young to a “rock concert”? I’ve attended hundreds (seriously) of concerts/shows in my life and have never seen a child that young in attendance. Had I ever brought one of my kids to a concert, even a bit older than this child, I’d never be able to enjoy the show as my attention would be 100% on my kids safety. But like I said, good for the band and the Lead Singer. He must be a Dad himself. Just my $.02
