You are in that half sleep realm of rising from the subconscious knowing the alarm is most
likely going to go off soon. As you lay silent hoping for another hour, you suddenly feel
the presence.
Someone is staring intently at you. Do you move? Do you crack a sleepy eye?
The power is strong and it calls to you.
The power is hungry and needs to be fed.
The power is... a pain in the ass.
Now multiply that by three…..

if you ignore it, it'll push fragile things off the top.
ReplyDeleteYep. Or “I’ll walk across you several times, or I’ll nuzzle and purr in your face, or (we had this) turn on the lights…
ReplyDeleteI can hear the song, I’ve got the power, in my head right now
ReplyDeleteMine gets me up at 3:00 AM, plus or minus no more than a half hour. I've slept through the night ONCE in the last year. You know, that feels pretty nice.

ReplyDeleteTake a few minutes and wander around in there.

ReplyDeleteFor me its three German shorthairs taking turns whining on the bed @5:15 every morning๐
ReplyDeleteWe currently have 2, but in the past due to circumstances beyond our control we've had 10. Early on we decided to commit 1 bedroom to them, and that is where they are at night and at meal times. You could spend hours in our house and never know we have cats - but they'd know everything about you. My mutt however is with me constantly.
ReplyDeleteNo house cats, we have ranch cats. Some feral, some semi-feral. Either one would pull a T-Bone off the BBQ.
ReplyDeleteNever had a cat, but spent many a last hour trying to sleep worrying if the damn alarm was going to fail to go off.
