I would've been ecstatic as a kid if we had a gas stove. Instead, we had a coal/coke-fired iron cookstove that *I* had to go out every morning and get the coal/coke to stoke the fire, No stove, no heat in the house. Long story, learned a lot of good life lessons from it. Learned appreciation for te better things in life. Oh, BTW - I have severe asthma. The claims being made are sheer fantasy.
I'd tell the kid, "Fine. Go stand outside while I cook and then wait an additional 30 minutes for the 'dangerous gas' to dissipate. Sure hope it isn't raining, really cold or snowing. Some sleet would be nice, though, right?"
