This is why I pretty much only watch Korean shows and Indian movies anymore. There's the rare violent one like Squid Game, but that's quite rare. Taiwanese, Thai, Japanese, and Filipino stuff is also decent, though tends to have a lot of overacting and mugging for the camera, but sometimes that's the light-hearted stuff I'm looking for in my entertainement too, so it's still got its place, IMO.
Al Gore has a Netflix channel? Actually, I quit Netflix when they torpedoed BlockBuster. Yeah, I know, it's just capitalism but what they did was just wrong. I had a BlockBuster and Netflix membership. Cost was minuscule. Then Netflix lowered their rates and because BlockBuster actually had brick and mortar structures, it drove BlockBuster into bankruptcy. What happened then? Netflix raised their rates tremendously. Sure why not, they now had a lock on the video market. Screw them.
hjets, I don't claim any expertise on the Netflix vs. Blockbuster issue, but here is another telling of the Netflix vs. BlockBuster story. It starts at the 3rd paragraph of this link, but especially, read paragraph 5: https://www.sup.org/books/extra/?id=26534&i=Chapter%201.html

ReplyDeleteThey’ve surpassed HBO at this point.
ReplyDeleteMidwest Chick
You left out the gender-swapping and race-swapping of every main character.
ReplyDeleteYeah; and most of that "action" is between faggots...
ReplyDeleteI cancelled my Netflix account several years ago.
ReplyDeleteAmazon is better, for now, but they're trending that way too.
When it comes to streaming services it's getting rather difficult to escape wokeism.
ReplyDeleteNot even close, it's a lot of woke boring shit now.
ReplyDeleteExcept, The Unibomber: In his own words. A lot of what's being said now he was saying then.
