Recently I noticed that I can't get to my layout page in blogger. The Gremlins must be hard at work
For now I can't edit any of the items on the blog. Just posts can be done. I have tried
Chrome, Firefox, Brave, Bing, etc.
There are some others that appear to be having this issue.
I'll give it a few days to see if it self corrects.

If you haven't done so already restart, (not shutdown) your computer. I know it may seem primitive but sometimes it does the trick.

ReplyDeleteThe issue you went through last week with blogger downloading a file to anyone's computer has been spreading. Yesterday, I had to edit about four different blogs' links in my "Reading list" gadget. The funky thing is that the fix that worked for you, ending the URL in "feeds/posts/default?alt=rss" doesn't work for everyone. I've ended up having to come up with the fix for every blog by experimenting.
This morning, Bayou Renaissance Man worked fine for me, but within an hour wouldn't work when my wife went to read it, and it needed that fix.
When you think of computer stuff, that phrase "digital logic" makes you think stuff should be logical. So why should a URL stop working and need that "alt=rss" thing added when it worked minutes before?
Programmers mucking up the front end, that's why.

ReplyDeleteI've added the suffix "feed" and "feed extension" after the blog or site name to no avail. It didn't make any difference.
Some blogs on Blogger platform are feeding correctly, others aren't. Same with WP and those with their own domain.
What a royal pain.

ReplyDeleteBlogger is aware of the problem, my broken layout page had an error code on it. I clicked that and wound up on a Blogger Forum about the issue.
At least 12 other people there already, some Hindu dude telling people to pick a new Theme.
Idiot.

I said the Blogger Team was too busy going through everyone's archives and deleting old poststhat had been up for years because they suddenly didn't meet Blogger's Community Standards.
Assholes have done it to me 3 times already.
Team Blogger fucked with the code, I guarantee it it and screwed something up.
They just don't want to admit it.
Whaddya know, it looks like the Geektards at Blogger finally pulled their heads out of their asses and fixed the access to the Layout page.
