I never realized New Hampshire had that much of a sea coast. Had to look it up. I saw surfers on Lake Erie near Cleveland on a very cold windy day. Surfing during below freezing temps is for the hearty adventurous folk!
Hypothermia is not your friend... it is safer to stay in the water as ocean water freezes at 28 degrees F. Four degrees? My ass is firmly planted in my couch, an afgan wrapped around me and drinking coffee.

ReplyDeleteDuluth had some hardy souls surfing on Lake Superior last week... the temps never rose above zero that week.
ReplyDeleteWith an insulated wetsuit/drysuit, it's not that bad, or so I am told. Not gonna put it to the test.
