Well Now, That Escalated Quickly.....

"She's comin' on, boys, and she's comin' on strong." -- last recorded words of Billy Tyne.

A few days ago we were expecting 1-2 inches of rain. *blink*

Yup, it's New England.

This is a video recreation of my reaction:

  1. When I lived in upstate NY, I actually found myself looking a bit forward to the first major storm that would lock things down for a day or so. Now that I have escaped to the Gunshine State, I sit and wonder WTH was wrong with me.

  2. 8-12"? rrriiiggghhhttt. These are the same people that use the same predictatory models that claimed the Arctic Ocean would be completely ice free by the year 2000 and NYFC would be 10 feet under water, which, come to think of it wouldn't be a bad idea about now.

Right now it raining pretty hard here and has been for about 6 hours with nary a flake to be seen. I'm about 50 miles SW of you. My prediction 1-2 inches of heavy wet slop, at the tail of the low, as slides to the NE, that'll be gone in overnite 'cause the ground's not frozen.

    1. Well, that did escalate quickly. After listening to rain hitting the chimney for several hours since I arose, it suddenly quieted. I look out the window and sure enough, big heavy wet flakes are wafting down to disappear as soon as they hit the unfrozen grass. Temp has dropped one degree in the last half hour.

So, perhaps my prediction will be wrong.

  3. It’s too warm in Keene’s Kafkaesque-kakistocracy to accumulate anything of note.

  4. Shit, we aren't even getting a coating here. It has snowed all day and hasn't accumulated at all. Melting on contact with the ground.
